Found this centre by accident and what an amazing time we had.
This seems to be a family run small centre with a great collection of Owls and Falcons with a pond of turtles too.
The lady who walked round with us was very informative and it was obvious these birds were part of her family and not a way to make money.
She let us hold a couple of birds which was a great little extra, with no extra cost.

No one really seemed to know about this place I found it through purchasing a malta discount card.We caught a bus to the town centre and asked a policeman for directions it's about a 10 min walk but well worth it.
The owner walked around the cages with us telling us all about the birds. She was so helpful and friendly and she really cares for her birds.
We went to see the display and it was lovely such a shame only 12 of us there but at the same time we had individual attention got to fly the birds plenty of opportunity to handle birds and take photographs.
Please please make time to visit this amazing lady you will not be sorry you did.
We hope the council let her put her signs up so more people can find her.

Absolutely amazing place, beautiful birds and very-very friendly staff. We go to there by bus no 62 from Valletta, it takes 25-35 minutes. You must leave the bus in the last stop (Siggiewi) and then walk a little bit to left. I got chance to have on my hand three beautiful birds and their feathers were very-very soft. The entrance fee is too small, only 8 euros, but you can donate money for them. They should take money for the photos of the birds on the hand, but it is free. Absolutely the best thing in Malta! Thank you very much!

Don't go to Malta if you like birds. The Maltese just stand around shooting as many birds as they can. It's their "tradition". Probably because they are bored having absolutely nothing to do on this back-assed island. No-one knows why people lack enough imagination to come up with better things to do there... One of their main attractions is literally a budget filmset from a Popeye film you never heard about because it wasn't good enough to register in even the lower levels of popular culture. Lots of people who live incredibly small lives seem to rave about Malta, but seriously the fact that they kill an enormous number of beautiful birds and the fact that their not particularly impressive food costs the same amount to eat, as the cuisine in Gordon Ramsay's London restaurants is about all they have going for them... Actually the waters of their beaches are beautiful but... You can find similar beaches in other countries that aren't as packed. The photos you see of Malta's beaches are all taken at angles to pretend that they aren't tiny. They're tiny and rammed full of unpleasant people. Tbh they should import some sand and increase the size of their beaches considering that unimaginative tourists are all there is in the place.

This centre is a lovely family run collection of Birds of Prey. The day we visited there was a school party there but this didn't spoil our visit, plenty of space and good supervision by teachers. The owner and her son were very friendly, helpful and knowledgable of their birds. There was a flying display at 1100 which was personal, imformative and friendly. The emphasis at this centre is the families birds which they want others to see. A hidden attraction, not easy to find, but worth it if you do.

Falconry is truly the sport of kings, where great men become falconers and show the ultimate respect for the gift of providence by training nature's beautiful birds of prey to hunt for the kingly falconer.
Malta Falconry Centre is a terrific facility which upholds the best traditions of falconry. It epitomises the owners' dedication to conservation of the environment and a fine sporting tradition. We had the privilege of attending the full-day workshop, which entailed arriving at 8.30am for a comprehensive tour of the park; an introduction to the different species of bird; holding, patting, and taking photos with many beautiful birds; the techniques required to care for and train the bird; the falconry exhibition, and finally the chance to learn to fly these amazing creatures from the hand and to feed them. The best 100 euros I spent during my whole time in Malta.
Doreen is a lovely lady whose affection for the birds is apparent throughout, and Mr. Warren Galea is an outstanding expert in the art of falconry. This centre is something which the Maltese people should be truly proud of.

Great experience of a half-day interaction with some of the birds: learning about them, taking them from their perches to be weighed and then watching them in action flying free - just wonderful. Very well kept and clearly a labour of love from all the people working there.

The show is at 11.00 so be there before 11. 10.30 is the best so you can walk around the park. It is not huge but still impressive. It is a very well maintained and a clean park (clean toilets too!).
The show was nothing like other Bird shows. The owner is really friendly with the birds which had a really nice positive vibe. We were allowed to hold and pet them!
Go there! Really worth the money.

Visited one morning whilst on holiday in malta.
Easy to find just outside Siggiew (sp) it has a large welcoming car park and is immaculately kept.
We were quite early and it was windy so were told they wouldnt be flying the birds (which wasnt a problem for us) - but instead we could handle the birds which we actually prefered.
The lady that runs the Centre came over to us and spent about 40 minutes with me and my wife giving us lots of info on the birds, showing them all to us and even letting us hold a few of them. It was great to see them so close up and it was a really personal touch which you wont get at any other animal centre.
The owner works really hard on this centre and you can see she really loves her animals and has a lot of passion for what she does. She is very friendly and welcoming.
It is just €6 to get in which is just amazing value - if you are visiting Malta then you really have to go to the Malta Falconry Centre.

We had a great afternoon here - the birds are loved and well cared for, the owner and staff were very welcoming, and the café and toilets are good. We were given lots of information, and allowed to hold a few owls and a hawk - if it's not windy, you have a flying display instead of a handling session. They have eagles and vultures too, which look huge compared with the other birds! Well worth a visit for a few euros, if you like birds of prey.

I'm getting contradictory information. Is the Falconry Centre open to the public (beyond event bookins) ?
Thank you.

How much does an entry ticket per person cost? And what are the prices for children?
Written 22 December 2018
Is it a walk round attraction or with set tours and times?
Written 5 April 2018
Walk-around, but the center director may be available to answer questions if available (she is also roaming around the site). Flying display(s) at set times per the website, wind conditions permitting.
The "Falconry Experience" (additional cost) is more hands-on, you help one of the other falconers feed and transport the small and medium birds of prey for weighing. They also teach you the basics of bird handling and having a bird fly from one person to another.

How far are you from the cruise port?
Written 29 January 2018
Hi there i would say its about 40-45 minutes from the port via Valletta bus interchange then take the bus to town called Siggewi, just outside the small town centre. The display usually starts at 11am and lasts about 75minutes or so depending on how many people are there. Contact the Centre for further information and if its really windy the birds don't fly, hope it helps.

When are the bird shows? Is there a regular time like always at 10am?
Written 15 September 2017
We were there in June when they were on their "winter" timings. They opened at 10.30am (or thereabouts) and closed at about 4pm (I think). They have "summer" opening times in July and August (and September, I think) which are much shorter, I think only about 3 hours in the afternoons. This is because the birds moult in the summer and need to rest, we were told. The hotel we were in had leaflets and can also telephone the centre to check for you.

You will need to take the bus into Valletta and change to the number 62 bus to Siggiewi. The bus drops you off in the town square. On getting off the bus turn to your right and follow the small road around to the main road where you will come to a roundabout, straight across at the roundabout and the falconry centre is about 250yards on the right. Signage to the centre from the middle of Siggiewi is non existent, but there is a small sign near the roundabout. Be careful on the road because from the roundabout there is no pavement. Enjoy.

can you get there by public transport from Sliema and if so, how?
Written 7 June 2015
I Don't know. I do know that you can go from Sliema to Valletta and then take bus number 62 from Bugibba (Valletta) to Siggiewi. Get out the bus at Siggiewi the main square, then it is a short walk - about 10 minutes.
