Real small museum. We enjoyed a hour and half as they had Easter kids activities. The activities were nice and the kids enjoyed but guess without any special day it won't last for over 30 minutes. Staff were friendly and with good knowledge

Had a good couple of hours here and learned lots. It's quite deceiving as it's not that big but we took advantage of the recorded tours available on tablets. You each get a headset and you can go at your own pace. Hubby is in a wheelchair but access is good although you have to get to the barrack room... More

Even if museums aren't really your thing, this relatively small museum is crammed with genuine Roman artifacts, all well presented and laid out. Good for children who are actively encouraged to find things with the help of a fact sheet. All free, but donations welcome.

As well as being free this is a high quality local museum with fascinating local finds mainly from the Roman garrison that once stood on the present site of the town. The sheer size of Roman Isca is reflected in the amount of artefacts at the museum. Lots of children's activities throughout the year but equally interesting for adults. An... More

Visited this site and were not disappointed. It literally makes you think you are back in Roman times. The baths are spectacular. Seeing so many artefacts from so long ago is amazing. 100% recommend. Oh, and it's free.

Worth spending time to visit the museum and the close by other Roman sites. The garden has some plants which have been used for medicinal purposes and it is worth taking a note.

Spent an amazing morning walking around Caerleon visiting all of the Roman sites. The museum was fascinating, the fortress baths were intriguing and the amphitheatre a walk into the past. Church bells were ringing and a wedding was taking place in the nearby church. Great attractions and well worth a visit. Will return in the near future. Lots of parking... More

The museum is in a small village square and is on two floors, lots of artifacts and Roman uniforms. The children will love being able to touch them and to see how the Romans lived. There are lots of glass cases with colourful displays of life as a Roman sent union and of Roman ladies. Special events take place so... More

In short: if you are interested in Roman history in Britain, this is an essential site to visit. You will probably be very surprised by the quantity and quality of the items presented. The longer version: The town of Caerleon actually contains four sites, all related to the Legionary fortress that once stood on the site. Two sites are off... More
