    Well worth a visit
This was one of the first distilleries my son and I visited whilst holidaying at Speyside. We had not booked a tour, but still warmly greeted and escorted to a very impressive wood panelled room to try out some whiskies. We purchased the 15 year and still remains one of our favourites.

The best distillery tour without a doubt
A great tour of one of the few remaining family owned and run distilaries. The tour guide was very knowledgeable friendly and informative. Only cost £12 which was great value and you had a ten and fifteen yr whisky at end. Highly recomended

Great whisky, nice Distillery in beautiful scenery, nice people
I very much like Glenfarclas whisky, so visiting the distillery was on top of the list. And it was worth it! It was not operating due to maintenance but still the tour gave a good impression of the workings of this small - family owned distillery. My favourite was the warehouse, where the whisky is matured in its cask. Our guide was very friendly and was happy to answer all questions. The tasting was also good - although I knew the whisky before (after all, that's why I came). Also, the driver can take the samples home. And what makes matters unusual and even better: when our rental car acted up, everyone (!) did what they could to help out. The staff at the visitor center offering shelter during our wait for assistance, and then the Distillery's owner, the manager, and one member of the staff who even came in on his day off to help us out, long after the distillery had closed. So, a pleasant holiday memory after all, to remember when I open my next bottle of Glenfarclas.

    Great distillery, perfect guide
My brother is law and I did the standard distillery tour for £12 on August 30th. It took about 90 minutes and our guide Rosie was knowledgeable and friendly. Would highly recommend. We were there during the silent season (no distillation going on should be going again in a couple of weeks). This should not discourage you for a second from visiting. As with all distilleries the standard expressions have a significant mark up compared to supermarkets never mind online retailers. At the end of the tour we sampled the 12 and 15yo. They're nice and the tasting room with the oak panels and comfortable chairs and tables added to the ambience and overall experience. Again shout-out to Rosie who did a great job telling us about the distillery, the family, the production process and the whisky we sampled.

    A Lovely Family run Distillery
Excellent family run distillery with a fascinating history. Steve the tour guide was both knowledgeable on this history and the whiskey making process. This combined with a tasting of some fine single malts made it an enjoyable visit.

    Wonderful experience—totally recommend!
I visited the distillery with my family on our Scotland trip and it was a delight! We were greatly excited about the tour which was beautifully organised. Julie, our instructor couldn’t be more knowledgeable and help answer all questions the group had. The tour is reasonably priced, and would recommend to everyone. Thank you Glenfarclas for the wonderful opportunity to explore your distillery!

    Friendly and informative
My wife and I had a great tour at the Glenfarclas Distillery. Very similar to another distillery tour in terms of technical explanations but so very enjoyable. In large part due to the tour guide but also due to the small (but impressive) operation - and the extra information shared about the history, the family, and the scope of its operations. Tour group was 12 people so good size and able to interact and ask questions. Not a whisky drinker by any means but did enjoy the sampling including the 'driver' sample I was able to take with me. Would highly recommend.

    A great tour and tasting
Did the Five Decades Tour and had a great time. We have toured distilleries all over and still learned some things (as we do at every distillery we visit). Glengarclas is a favorite scotch so not surprised that we enjoyed the tastings as well...even buying one of the bottles. Would highly recommend this tour for anyone who enjoys Glenfarclas.

    Brilliant
Most informative distillery tour ever. Julia was exceptional and the tasting after was wonderful in very relaxing and comfortable tasting room. The whisky as always was excellent. Big thanks to Callum Fraser distillery manager and Julia our tour guide. Julia went above and beyond by giving us a lift back to our hotel when we couldn’t get taxi.

    Fantastic tour
Sixth distillery visit this week and we learned a lot of new information about the whiskey making process. Great to see so many traditional methods maintained. Thanks Julia for such an interesting and informative tour.

Driving up to the distillery site you already get the sense of the brand - Glenfarclas meaning Green Valley, and its distinctive red painted doors on each building, so lovely to see. Our tour guide Adi was brilliant from the beginning, catering for an audience of different language speakers by talking things through with care and attention at all times. He was extremely thorough and gave the best explanation of the whole process, and put real character and passion into each part of the process too - from the family history into the site set up, and from the water source and barley and yeast inclusion right through to the warehousing and tasting. Particular highlights included the best explanation of the stills (wash and spirit) including the cleaning of them, and a view inside to the workings too. He was not afraid to ask engineers to talk through details too - all added to what was one of the best whisky tours I’ve been on. I would recommend it to anyone who desires to understand the real world of a traditional distillery. Top class.

Our tour guide, Adi, did a great job on this near 2 hr tour. Super comprehensive explanation of all the production steps from malting, the mash tuns, the distillation process and cask conditioning. Since the barrels are aged on site you have a chance to visit the barrel storage warehouses. Out of 7 distillery tours so far across Islay and Speyside this one was the best due to quality of tour and excellent quality of whisky and the distillery is still family owned and run. So nothing not to like here. Highly recommended !

Our tour was reserved for us by our Speyside tour guide that we had for the day. Their choice for us was perfect! Love the quirkiness of the buildings, and our tour guide (sorry I've forgotten her name) was excellent. This distillery has been family owned for five generations and their whisky is aged in sherry casks. They produce a wide range of expressions from the 10 year through to the 40 year old whisky. It was a wonderful start to our Speyside tour that took in just tastings at the others. Highly recommend a tour here!

Super interesting tour with friendly guide. Have been on a few tours of different distilleries and this is one of the better ones. Really interesting history, set in lovely location and the whiskey tastes pretty good too!

There is an arrogance to the staff here that one does not encounter in most of the other distilleries. Being independent does not justify this perception of elitism. We also had 2 drivers in the group and there was no provision for driver packs and no attempt to resolve the situation. There were no warnings that this was not an option. Less focus on sustainability than other distilleries. Overall; a great sense of being unwelcome.

We are very sorry to hear that your visit yesterday did not meet your expectations. While, of course, drivers packs are available for all our regular tours, things are often different during the special events for the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival. The nature of the event you attended meant that driving was not appropriate, as the purpose of the event was to select our next Family Cask bottling. As such, we required you to taste the whiskies to make a judgement on them. While the event description did mention that driving was not advised and transportation should be organised, we apologise if that wasn’t clear enough. If you are ever back in the area please come back and visit and allow us to hopefully exceed your expectations.

From the initial phone call with Sara the Visitor Centre manager, everything was kept up to date with the tour, cost and time and was professionally handled by Sara. Steve our tour guide was extremely courteous, attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. This was my group's highlight of the 4 days touring the Highlands. Thank you to all the Glenfarclas staff for making this a memorable experience. Highly recommended visit when in and around the Spey side.

Our guide Julia was incredibly informative and engaging throughout. She even engaged our 10 year old in a group of adults.

The distillery itself is a credit to the traditional ways of producing whisky.

It is immersive and you find yourself among history in every room.

I’d recommend Julia and the tour

The distillery had a lot of space around it which bodes well for those traveling with a pet. The shop was filled with haply staff members and beautiful bottles of whiskey. The only downfall.. no free testers..

A wonderful distillery that has been family owned and run for generations. That level of continuity has allowed them to play the long game and stay true to their traditions.
Our guide, Donna, was exceptional. So knowledgeable and friendly.
There are so many distilleries in Moravian’s hard to know which ones to go to. If you are in any doubt then I can’t recommend Glenfarclas highly enough.

Julia did an exceptional job explaining the process of whisky making. She is obviously very knowledgeable. We planned the trip to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday and she indulged him with a tasting of 1963 Glenfarclas. This is one experience we will treasure.
