- AnupriyaDGKolkata (Calcutta), India351 contributionsLoved this serene beachWe chanced across Betalbatim beach on of our scooty rides along the country roads of South Goa...and I instantly fell in love with this picturesque beach. The beautiful beach - not frequented by touristy crowds - is secluded, serene and a great place to catch the sunset. You can chill here for hours, wade into the gently crashing waves or just lie back for a relaxing time.Visited August 2019Written 21 January 2020
- ohwow14Leigh-on Sea, United Kingdom23 contributionsLittle Palm ShackIf you are staying in or around Colva/Belabatim, go to the Little Palm Shack which is onto the beach from Bellaza Hotel and turn right. These guys make you feel very welcome with great food and cheap prices.... Top guys..Visited February 2020Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 February 2020
- Tapan4 contributionspeaceful, serene, calm beachWe liked Betalbatim beach more than the Colva beach because it was less crowded, very peaceful and our kids enjoyed it a lot. There were only two shacks and we chose 'Magzika', food was very good and staff was hospitable. We highly recommend this shack for people visiting Betalbatim beach. There's no water sports option on this beach.Visited October 2021Written 24 October 2021

Nestled next to Colva, the gorgeous beach exudes an undeniable charm, surpassing its neighbor in terms of tranquility and crowd-free ambience. With only a handful of beach shacks and resorts dotting the shoreline, this hidden gem offers a refreshing escape from the bustling tourist scene. For those seeking an authentic and less commercialized experience, Magzika and Nazaré Beach Front stand out as exceptional dining options. Here, visitors can savor their meals while basking in the warm hues of a picturesque sunset, creating the perfect setting for a truly memorable beachside experience.

Good beach, unfortunately Indians are not allowed as well as the foreigner. Indians allowed only if you use the shacks on the beach.

Lovely long stretch of beach. Wavy sea. A few beach shacks with sunbeds. They try & keep it clean, large bins everywhere but visitors continue to leave all their rubbish on the beach. Lots of plastic & fishing items washed up. A family had a picnic on the beach then went home & left all their rubbish, why?

How to travel to Old Goa using local bus from Coconut Grove? The taxis there kind of looting people. Demanding 2500/- for 6 hours and that too the spots are decided by them. You can't tell them which locations you want to travel. Without 2 wheeler license or a car you are stranded.

I am sorry I dont check notifications and am seeing this query 4 months too late.
Taxis are one of the pain points of Goa and there is no solution. The unions are all powerful and law unto themselves. The only option is to hire a self drive car or 2 wheeler and have the freedom to go anywhere at your convenience.
There is movement to re-start Ola. The unions had managed to block it but i hope the re-start movement succeeds. I dont think Bus would be very efficient.

i want to know how far is betalbatin beach from coconut grove resort, and is the a village outside the resort with places to eat and shop.thanks

The Coconut Grove Resort is on the Betalbatim beach itself. You directly walk onto the beach from the resort.
There are a couple of shacks which offer good food and drinks at fairly reasonable prices on the beach. The village outside the resort is about 3-4 kms away, and this is like a secluded resort.
Is it better than baga Beach
Kallol Chakraborty
Kolkata (Calcutta), India42 contributions
Baga beach is a beach of North Goa and as well known characters of North Goa beaches this beach is also over crowded.
Betalbatim beach is situated in South Goa and it is very calm, quiet and clean. You can enjoy wonder sea-bath here.
So according to my opinion if I am asked to answer your question, I must say that Betalbatim beach is 100% better and enjoyable beach than Baga as I dislike crowd.
