We were on holiday in Slovenia in August and were advised by our accommodation hosts to visit the Krizna Jama caves as they were supposedly not as touristy as the other cave tours in the area. We were running late as we went to see the Predjama Castle first, we were so sad that we were going to miss our... More

We travel a lot, always looking for somewhere we have not been, and every so often we encounter a fabulous place with someone special who will be remembered long after we arrived home: We were the last tour for the day, only our family of 4, and we had the fortune to be guided by Tanya Frbezar. Tanya's passion for... More

Long great review. Don't want to leave anything out in order to help other travelers. HIGHLY RECOMMEND, but verify transportation. Getting there via public transportation is definitely possible but not as the same as online. We planned our trip from Ljubljana according to their website and Slovenian transportation website. Everything seemed like it would line up time wise including the... More

This is the real thing. I appreciate it that they only allow small groups and that they try to keep the cave in it's natural state. The guide was really inspiring, she obviously loved caves and sharing her passion. I kind of felt honoured to be there. Although I didn't do the 4 or 7 hour tour, I got a... More

Not too expensive, an hour long tour with a guide through a pitch dark cave with just a flashlight. Groups are small and the guidance about the cave is interesting. Rubber boots are provided, but you need to dress warmly:the cave is humid and cold.

This cave is not overwhelmed by the mass of tourists like the Postojna caves. The visit is also more authentic. No concrete paths, no lights or trains. Križna jama is one the few tourist caves in the world that was left in its total natural state. At the entrance you get a flashlight and a pair of boots. The shortest... More

Having already been to Postojna caves, which is quite an expensive place for a family outing, this cave stood out as being 'the real thing' - we decided to go there because we thought the boat trip would be interesting for the kids (which it was) - but actually the most impressive thing for us all was how authentic the... This cave feels very raw and is very much in contrast to the touristic and organized Postojna (which is also very nice). Staff is friendly and the guide did her best to provide us with a good experience and with rich explanations. Well worth the visit!

We took the one hour tour. The tour was nice but Please note walking on the wet clay in this cave is not easy. There're many stairs to pass and for seniors it wasn't an easy walk. The boat "trip" is nice to have but not more I'm afraid.

Gasper was excellent guide on this tour of just our family of 4 (kids age 9 and 11) through a living cave in a small rubber raft. We have visited many caves but this was unlike any other.
