Nice museum to visit as a day trip from Mexico City. Direct/Express buses do not go near the city core - requires taking a taxi from the highway or walk 20-30 minutes. To my dissapointment, there were only few mayan artifacts at this location. But, the church interior decorations are worth the visit. AVOID visiting on Sundays! Mexical residents get to enter this site for free on Sundays and it gets very very crowded. Entry cost is MXN 90 for tourists. The plaza/markets also get very crowded on Sundays.

Thinking about visiting a museum may become a bit boring, but in this museum it was different because you can observe stories, it is too imposing and it attracts too much attention from visitors, are paintings and pieces that can help rebuild a whole story in your mind, for me it was very educational and I would love to return again, but also on my visit there were small disadvantages, as it was a school visit and the companions did not allow to enjoy the whole visit, but for me it was a very beautiful place, it is also advisable to be prepared to learn more about history.

Amazing and amazingly well organized during covid times. The staff could be a little bit more friendly but is a side note.

The best time to visit Tepotzotlán is spring - summer when the weather is warm so inside of that period of time is better go on the weeknend but you´ll find that there are very people in the street, in restaurants which are near the center; by the way there are restaurants with different prices, all dependent on the eat you want.
Tepotzotlán has got the National Museum of the Viceroyalty where there are a lot of people too. In the museum you can go to the comun area where you can lie on the grass. Before you back at your home you can buy a souvenirs in the museum or center's shops.
Remeber that if you go in spring you can enjoy the fair flowers one week before 21st March.
To arrive to Tepotzotlan you can come in bus which arrive you in front of Tepotzotlan's center also you can come in your own car and store it in any parking lot in the center.

You can’t imagine what you can find inside this museum... it’s amazing, and the most increíble part is the main church... lots and lots of images and sculptures, with a beautiful golden finish. You don’t know where to see! There’s also a new area behind the main church that is also remarkable, paintings in the ceilings and walls... The orchard is also beautiful, you can walk along the alleys and enjoy the views. If you can manage to get here, enjoy the visit!

We took a private tour from Mexico City and visited this museum among others. It was a great experience and we learned a lot about the Jesuit college. It is definitely worth visiting!

Many rooms set around different courtyards, it's a bit of a maze! Interesting exhibits from here and other areas including overseas. To enter you will check your bigger bags and bottles of water - and walk through a body scanner! From here is access to the San Francisco church, gilded baroque gone crazy! See separate listing.

It was a fantastic experience to see the detail and learn about the history of Mexico through the murals. Amazing and well organized to have jut enough people inside so you can experience the craftsmanship shown.
