A very pretty well maintained park even though it was in winter. It was a shame the fountains weren't running running but maybe its because of the time if year or possibly a health and safety thing, which would be such a shame. When you walk through to the bottom past a coffee shop which decks out to look at the Thames, there's a wrought iron set of steps that take you underneath the road safely to the Thames so you don't have to cross the road. Fabulous!!

We came to eat in the cafe but had a walk around the garden as well. It is neat and tidy with the beds having been replanted but there isn't a great deal of colour at the moment apart from inside the glasshouse which isn't open at the moment.

This garden is worth a look even in the Winter as there are some nice bedding plants, daffodils and blossom at the moment plus the river view is great.

Our walk from our hotel into town took us past the top of these gardens. The view were spectacular of The River Thames but I am sure the gardens have more to offer in the Spring and Summer. We did wander in to see the infamous Bulbous Betty statue - I quite liked her!

Gorgeous gardens, excellent views of the river.
A lovely cafe right in the middle of the gardens.
A lovely resting place while walking down the river on a beautiful sunny day.

I love the views...the flowers, the greenery, the benches, little cafe in the middle of it all, kids playing around, couples enjoying picnics, friends laughing, crazy people (like myself) running around trying to take a good photo of the bees around the flowers.
Very enjoyable place to relax, will definitely go again!

On the side of Richmond Hill overlooking the Thames (home of the famous view) are these lovely gardens. They are far less famous than Richmond Park but have a great charm and are brilliantly maintained by the local council.

They are within ten minutes of Richmond Station, have an excellent cafe and some truly magnificent trees. Nearby are excellent restaurants including Petersham Nursery, Nightingales at the Petersham Hotel and 144 the Hill at the Richmond Hill Hotel. All in all they are worth a visit possibly en route to Richmond Park from the town.

Numerous buses pass nearby

These gardens are perfect for a picnic. The flowerbeds are looking amazing with tulips and bedding plants.

Walked through the gardens on the way to Petersham on Saturday, it was bright & sunny and so pleasant as well as quiet, there is a lovely cafe situated in the middle and the gardens are so well maintained.

They are a little spoilt by irresponsible dog owners who don’t clean up after their pets, one in particular was so engrossed in her phone wasn’t watching her Yorkshire Terriers defecate all over the grass, by the time I noticed she’d disappeared! Spoils it for families with children, simply no need!

There are a multitude of benches scattered throughout the gardens affording you great views of the neighbouring canal.

The gardens are well maintained and are colourful in summer. There are green spaces where families can sit and children play. The gardens benefit from a cafe and enhamces a pleasant experience. By its nature of the gardens there are plenty of steps and steep paths to climb . Wheelchair access is only prctible from the Petersham Road and access for pushchairs from Richmond Hill will involve bumping down steps.. The views are great and sitting in the summer is very restful. It is certainly worth a visit.
