Enjoy the beautifully painted ceiling in this small, hidden away chapel, built in the 17th century for members of the Gwydir family who lived in nearby Gwydir Castle (castle owners have the key).

Collect the key from Gwydir Castle. The chapel is very traditional and beautiful built. A wonderfully painted ceiling not the cistine chapel but very beautiful. It has a small balcony above the main church which is accessible. You can walk up the hill, but driving...More

This small, chapel in the forest above Gwydir Castle, has beautiful hand painted ceilings, dating back to the 1600's. Best to be visited by car.

This chapel is a little gem hidden on the edge of Gwydir Forest. Built for the local Wynne family in a stunning location with great views across the Conwy Valley. The key can be obtained from Gwydir Castle at the foot of the hill then...More

Ask for the key at Gwydir Castle and hike up through the woods - part of the experience! This seventeenth century chapel has a most impressive painted ceiling that begs for you to sit and look up at it for awhile.

The chapel is not easy to find, being on the back road to Betws y Coed and up a rather winding track, but it's a lovely peaceful spot, set in fantastic scenery. The chapel itself is interesting and typical of local churches, and there are...More

Chapel astride town church with medieval and Tudor treasures. Small, but brimming with history, especially metal engravings, tomb "monument" and pews. Must-see, though a bit hard to find.

Wonderful, mythical location, you can imagine mythagos appearing out of the forest (read Robert Holdstock!) but there is NO ACCESS to the interior. Guidebooks speak well of the interior but you can't see it!

Very interesting. Adjoining the church the chapel is full of interesting artefacts and beautiful examples of idiosyncratic wood carving.

A bit of a faff to get the key from the castle, but well worth it. Fbulous interior decoration, especially the skeleton!
