We visited the castle on the Saturday of the Easter Weekend. Cadbury's Easter Egg hunt was on which was good fun for the kids and at least got the running around the woodland walks, together with bouncy castles on the lawn to keep them entertained. Good thin was that whilst these activities were extras they were very reasonably priced. Lovely... More

We're here on holiday with family and needed to kill some time one day. The two young girls we had with us loved it and it was such a treat looking around the castle. The girls loved the hunt around the castle and the gardens were absolutely beautiful!

Didn't go into the castle but walked the pleasant gardens. Well worth a visit. Nice for kids to run around and maybe learn a little history

I visited here in the Easter holidays with my 12 year old daughter. We decided to walk the footpath to the castle so parked at Milton of Crathes opposite and walked approximately 3/4 mile which was a lovely walk. Castle was amazing, entrance fee on par with other castles. Staff were excellent, friendly and informative. We did a couple of... More

As National Trust members, we have visited the castle many times. Today was an opportunity for a walk through the woods. Well signposted trails make for a pleasant excursion. The castle is highly recommended.

Visited for the Easter Egg Hunt and my son enjoyed wandering the grounds and picking up the clues to complete the walk. It was busy but not so busy that you couldn't enjoy the castle or grounds. The staff were all very helpful and coped well with lots of children. The grounds are lovely with a number of different walks... More

A classic castle. Self guides walk around the castle. Lots of information boards and friendly guides wonderfully painted ceilings from long ago not. Great gardens. There is also a 'Go ape' here so the carpark is packed but the castle is not. Good walks for the dogs and a nice café.

I went on a walk here, through the woods etc and a small one through the gardens. There is a go ape here but only fo adults (the big one.) Decent trip but maybe a bit expensive.

Visited here with our daughter (two), grandparents and our dog (lively Labrador). We took one of the walks around the grounds which is great. Just about passable with a pushchair and good for wee ones and dogs - it took us about 90 minutes to get round which was long enough to work up an appetite for lunch at nearby... More
