Visited yesterday for the second time after a few years since our last visit. We are locals so not a far journey. We both felt that we missed something last time as we couldn’t remember much about the building. We left yesterday knowing plenty about...More

Currently it is not worth the entry fee. Maybe it will be once all the building work has been done. There is much to see still, and the staff make it interesting. The cafe was very welcome at end of our visit. Shame the parking...More

You can't actually see the cells, they're being made into a hotel and the rest is just a few dummies and lots of long signs that you have to read in the dark. They have clearly tried to introduce you to the people imprisoned there...More

We visited on a Sunday in April, so there weren't crowds of people there. We managed to park on the street below the gaol so didn't have to pay, but parking is limited and it's not an easy place to get to if you have...More

For £10 a ticket this is worth a visit. The building itself has quite an atmosphere. The mannequins are well put together and the horrible histories behind many of them leave an impression. Parking close by was quite easy and surprisingly cheap.

It would also help if the owners responded to some of the comments. At the end of the day all we are trying to do is to help them run a successful business.
