Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre is best-known as the home of the world-famous Lovell Telescope -A near 90m high radio telescope that has become an iconic landmark on the Cheshire landscape.

Seeing the telescope up close and in action is an exhilarating sight and the Centre's interactive displays and exhibits help explain what the telescope does and how it works.

The Discovery Centre also includes a cafe and gift shop, along with 35 acres of gardens and arboretum, complete with picnic areas and playground, perfect for a family day out.

You'll also find a year-round events programme including live science shows taking place during school holidays, a popular evening lecture series, and the award-winning annual festival of discovery, Bluedot.

I have been to Jodrell several time's over the year & enjoyed it. This weekend we had 2 friends over from Belgium & we had 4 hours to kill before their flight home. So off we went, I paid just over £27.00 for 4 adults and asked if the auditorium was open to which I was told no but they... More

Bought a family ticket for £26 which i thought was quite reasonable at the start. 10 mins in and we was bored with what we saw. Staff were unhelpful and just stood around rather than engaging with us. I found reading the information quite boring and would have preferred more interactive things to see and do whilst we went round.... More

If your planning a visit. Don't bother, it's the biggest waste of money I've ever seen. The staff are totally unhelpful, just stand there looking at you. And other than a couple of videos playing on the walls and a few interactive displays there's not much else. The highlight of the visit for my kids was the very small play... More

We visited Jodrell Bank because we both have an interest in space and the Universe. After paying our entrance fee we wandered into the park and up to the dish itself. It is even more impressive close up than from a distance, and a pathway leads right around it. There are information boards every few yards which explain all that one... More

Great place for young and old, and anyone interested in Space and the Stars! Staff on hand were very informative, and there were lots of activities to try out. The walk around the Observatory was good, although access is prohibited as it is still in use despite its age!!! Fully recommend as a visit

Family of 8, various ages. We enjoyed the park, which has science experiments set out, the children specially like these, also the play area. Indoors there was plenty to do with more science to explore and filmed talks etc.

You can get close to the telescope, but then you can get close enough from the car park without paying to go in. The displays, such as they are, are about astronomy in general aimed at school children. I walked past most of them - nothing engaged me. There is virtually nothing about recent , exciting, pioneering work that is... More
