I will be honest, I wasn't expecting Hartlepool to have as much history as it does. Museum was very interesting, particularly the articles relating to the bombardment of Hartlepool during World War 1. Well worth a visit

Really interesting displays and very informative on the shelling of Hartlepool in 1914. Was also surprised by the Egyptian artefacts on display.

This well-laid-out museum reflects Hartlepool's maritime history, with ships, exhibitions and a good cafe! The staff are well-informed and access is easy. There is a large carpark and the museum is well-signed from the dual carriageway.

There were some very interesting bits of local history on display, not least the story of Hartlepool being bombarded by the German Navy in the First World War. Very good to combine with the Naval Museum.

A real must for visitor and resident alike. Museum ably demonstrates the important role of Hartlepool over more than 2000 years.
