The church looks very old and large from outside, but it does not prepare you for the 'tardis-like'interior with its sense of grandeur and awe. There is a lot to see and learn, including about the church's part in royal history. If you enjoy history this building brings some of Scotland's history to life and shoul not be missed. Especially... More

We didn't go inside, so I can only review the outer areas. The graveyard is fabulous, with a stunning view point. If you like old graveyards, I'd definitely go look round. We spent a couple of hours and watched the sun go down. The views are tremendous, and there are the old ruined bits which are mostly fenced off but... More

Came upon this church as we walked the old town after visiting the castle. What a find! The current structure dates from the early 15th century and James VI is said to have been crowned here, making it the only standing church outside of Westminster Abbey to have held a coronation. Admission is free, but I would suggest a donation... More

The church and the graveyard are well worth it. We could have spent hours there. We learned a great deal and it was so beautiful. Well worth the time and it was free :)

We were at my good friends daughter wedding in September 2nd sept 2016. We had a fantastic day. We have also been to family wedding to 2years previous. This church is beautiful. The church lady elders were very friendly and helpful. 😀

Short walking tour of a medieval church steeped in colorful Scottish history, with magnificent architecture and beautiful stained glass windows, some construction dating to the 15th century (photos permitted, no admittance fee). A walk through the cemetery outside in the churchyard is also worth the time.

Had a little walk round this when doing a quick tour of the old city. Beautiful building having a little bit of restoration done on it. Lovely stained glass windows and a decent sized churchyard if that's your thing

Wonderful historic treasure. Warm welcome form volunteers. Drenched in history. Visit cemetery next to Church too and explore centuries of Stirling and Scotland's history within a couple of hours

This 600 year old church is located down the hill a bit from the Stirling Castle. It is a medieval church and the name represents the Cross of Christ crucifixion. The Catholic mass is not celebrated any longer thanks to John Knox and other reformers who were led by the Holy Spirit of God and the Church of Scotland was... More

Oh my, this was such an interesting place to see. From the beautiful wooden beamed ceiling, to the very spot where King James I of Scotland was crowned, one can just imagine what it must have been like years ago. The cemetery is also worth exploring before wandering up to the castle.
