Cambuskenneth Abbey and Bell Tower are absolute gems, hidden away from the usual tourist crowds, and set in a wonderfully quiet and beautiful location. The Abbey is a ruin, though the outline of the structure is still visible, but the Bell Tower, dating from the...More

This is a wonderful site to see. This castle like building gives you the wonderful feel of old Scotland without the crowds. There was no one there when we visited the site and that is typical from what we heard.

I thought it would be a stroll along the river, but it was more along roads. The abbey itself is a complete ruin, the standing structure is the bell tower. That was fine with me, as I love bell towers.
