First built in 1868, this is the longest Ottoman bridge in Albania and the only one with a curve. If you access from Shkodra city, as you approach the bridge there is car parking. Good for a 20 minute visit.

The view of the bridge is nice. It about 12-15 minutes from the center. It worth visiting it. We parked just at the beginning of it then walking on it taking couples of pictures. I would recommend visiting it.

Nice old Ottoman bridge. If you are nearby with a car a stop of 10-15 minutes is enough. Good place to take pictures of this bridge.

Interesting ottoman era bridge. It is a short drive from Shkodra (do not trust google maps directions, as you approach the bridge, drive on a straight line). The is free parking right next to the bridge.
The water of the river is crystal blue, however the river banks are full of plastic bag, probably due to flood events.

Really unique bridge! I have seen some in Albania but this must be the oldest and the biggest. I wish we went in Autumn or Spring when there is more river under as in summer months its mostly dry out. Hovewer there is tiny parking area near by and the road from Shkoder is fine so worth to pop.

When we were doing research we saw some people could walk under the middle arch and that the ground below the bridge was dry. Thankfully when we went the river was flowing. The water was blue and clear; like the water in the Mexico. This was surprising because most of the water we saw in the rivers around Tirana were much darker.

Our guess as to why it dries out sometimes is because the river is created from melting snow from the Albanian Alps. Others may have visited in the Summer when there is no ice or snow to melt and create the river. We visited in Mid February and the mountains at the time definitely were covered in snow.

This is such a great location, we even saw a couple taking their post-ceremony wedding pictures out here. It gave us even more entertainment as we ate our packed lunch and looked out over the ancient bridge and snow-capped mountains. When we were done experiencing the area we headed back to Shkodër. We did not reach the daily threshold on our bike rental (we only had the bikes about 3.5 hours) so the shop owner gave us the hourly price and returned our license with no problems.

As we had a car it was a short drive from Shkodra to the bridge. For visitors from Australia that was only settled in 1776, it was amazing that this bridge was built 6 years earlier and remains in good condition.

The bridge is quite unique and well worth the 15 min drive from Shkoder. I just wish the river had water as it looks much prettier in pictures when there’s actually a river flowing below.

We arrived here by car. For a trip to Albania we rented a car from EasyRentCars.com - we have been using their services for a long time, a reliable company with a large selection and good prices.
We recommend putting cars behind the bridge, there is little space.
Next, take a walk along the bridge and at the opposite side you will find benches - from here the most impressive views open!
The bridge itself is beautiful, and the panorama behind it!

The bridge is about 10 km from the city center. I was traveling by bicycle so it was easy to reach. The attractive stone arch bridge is open only to pedestrians, but is in good condition. Young people were swimming near the bridge.
