My wxoerience is rather dated and took place in 1964 when as a 20 year old I spent the summer season working in the Marigold Restaurant in Douglas. A great wee woman, originally from Liverpool and married to a Manxman, taught me all I needed to know to work in the Marigold's kitchen as grill-cook and fish-frier. This was the... More

It was a very nice experience to travel with this tramway and more it is very accessible to take pictures along the shore with beautiful landmark buildings aside.

Good fun for £3. Got on at sea terminal and off at Terminus tavern. Nice leisurely trot along prom good view out to sea. Nice to go back in time.

Whilst in the IOM recently we took a ride on the horse drawn trams, which I have not done since I was a child. They are open to the elements but we were lucky enough to have good weather. The public can also visit the stables to see these wonderful horses and we took a few apples and carrots as... More

Travel back in time while there still here. You never know how long they will be allowed to stay? (hopefully a very long time) If you get a "Day ticket" you travel all over the Island by Horse, Steam & Electric.

A very rare thing. Horse-drawn trams along the seafront. This is a much loved standard in the Isle of Man. Each horse has his/her own name plate and as you drive along the promenade and pass one of these beautiful creatures you can't help but look to see the name of the horse. Although, you invariably know the horse on... More

A brilliant ride on a horse drawn tram from one end of the promenade to the other. We was on mark who was a shire horse who was super fast pulling us along the tram line. It goes every twenty minutes and there are several stops along the way. A lovely way to travel whatever the weather.

Fun little activity for the kids, would highly recommend the day pass to use this in conjunction with the electric railway or steam train

I fell in love with the horses and can't believe the tramway is under threat of closure. By using a five day travel pass we were able to travel as many times as we wanted to. We used it alot.
