Rode the horse team a few times during our visit. The staff are pleasant and friendly and even the horses are smiley. The horses are well cared for we were informed that they only do one run from one end of the pier to the other before they are rested and given food and water. The trams are uncovered so... More

We travelled from the Sea Terminal to Derby Castle very ably pulled by Philip. A wonderful tram and a great horse - totally unfazed by the morning rush hour traffic. Trotting pace is perfect for viewing the prom - a must. These are the last horse trams to be found, so we must use them and keep them going -... More

Iconic means of transport in Douglas, was under danger to be stopped but I think it would be a loss.

It's so nostalgic to ride on the horse tram. Mentioned some places how there just aren't places in the world to do this any more.

Had to catch the Electric Railway Train at the FAR end of the prom. Given we are age challenged and our B&B is at the Ferry end its quite a walk. We just came out of our B&B, Cullen House, and stopped the Tramway and got on. Not sure if there's dedicated stops or not but we just got on... More

Took the tram twice and luckily the last tram of the day waited for the electric train to arrive. A little bit of nostalgia.

Just perfect,so tranquil, definitely worth going on for old time charm ,helpful staff as my dad struggled to get off it ,high step so be warned but worth it if you can manage the step,so if you want to just go at a slower pace it's perfect..

It was lovely to see how these trams operated - we went one way from one end of the front to the other and walked back to have a look around the stables (only £3 each). It was fascinating to see the shires and clydesdales - such wonderful animals. It seems that they may be losing their stables soon which... More

I grew up in the Isle of Man and the iconic clip clop of the horses as they pull the trams up and down the promenade is forever etched in my memory. It was wonderful to be able to introduce my three grandchildren to the experience. They were captivated, especially seeing the names of the horses on their harnesses and... More
