My friend who has 2 young children took me there for a visit. We had a very nice time. The kids also had a fun informative trip. The best thing is that its free however the parking is not big and can get quite busy!

A great place to visit, it's got lots to see for all ages. You will need a few hours to get around it properly. You don't get much for nothing these days and this would be worth paying to visit but it's free.

A good rainy day activity - a large and pretty comprehensive overview of the history of the island which generally held the attention. It's smart and well-presented and worth a visit.

The museum was great, and the part that ancestry searches takes place was excellent. The staff were very friendly (even to the point of doing special favours for overseas guests) and very helpful. A great experience

This is definitely one of the best museums we have visited and provided a great journey for us to understand the whole history and social culture of the island. We especially appreciated the video on the Tynwald Legacy as well as other aspects of life in the Isle of Man, including the trams. We were directed there by our hotel... More

We went expecting a short visit to a stuffy museum, how wrong I was. It is an absolute must to visit, there's so much to see I could have spent all day there.

A super museum, and not just for a rainy day. It gives a really good understanding of the island and its people, their heritage and culture. Exhibits are excellent, film show very good too. Highly recommended.

Not sure if you should visit this at the beginning or at the end of your journey but for sure you will discover here a lot of interesting things. Not only history but social and economical details about the IoM. The exhibits were very interesting for children as well.
