Children love it and grown ups too

Well worth a visit. You can feed the horses and ponies and support a really worthwhile cause looking after retired animals. And there is a rather nice cafe too.

Every time we go to visit family in IOM we always visit the home of rest. Its an absolutely great idea. Old tram horses live out the rest of their lives here instead of being sold for likely slaughter. You pay for some feed and go round to feed the friendly horses. Definitely for horse lovers though! The small café... More

This is where the old Douglas tram horses retire to. It's easy to reach by local bus, about 20 mins or so out of town. Worth a visit on a nice day.

This is such a lovely place set in the countryside. The horses are certainly not shy and such gentle giants! Admission is free and it is just £1 for a tub of horse treats. Highly recommended for all the family and you can see how well the horses and donkeys are cared for

We bought some feed and hand fed the horses and donkeys also they had a few chickens wandering around the place, only downside was the lady who sells the feed was a bit grumpy maybe she was just having a bad... Not far from Douglas. There are lots of horses waiting to greet you as you pull into the car park. Brought a few apples to give them which they loved. Lots to see, especially if you have children. There is a small gift shop where you can buy horse feed and lots of other horsey related items. Also a lovely... More

This is a lovely place the horse are mainly ex tram work horses that have been retired from work and they have either been bought by the home or donated by their owners when they are too old to work. These horses are so gentle and have given their all to their owners and its only right that they should live... Absolutely loved this. At the end of the holiday we both thought this was the best thing we did, which surprised us as we did it as something to do to kill the time on the way to the airport. Great for both children and adults.
