We was quite disappointed with this pier, it is solely just arcades and kids amazements. You even have to walk through the arcades which of course is very noisy. Not for a nice walk or to sit and relax .There is not even a cafe or bar.

Panoramic views of the beach and town from the far end of the Pier, which is primarily a large amusement arcade. Unfortunately, most of these places don’t work in the customer’s flavour and even the simple games like the grab (claw) machines are virtually impossible...More

This pier in my opinion is only for children their are far too many noisy rides on it would not bother to walk down it again.

I usually have a walk on this pier right to the end. Lots of food outlets upon entrance and fruit machines in the noisy arcade. After negotiating through that to the end of the pier it becomes more traditional with a Helter-skelter and free photo...More

We love to see a pier being looked after, there are so many around our coastline that are suffering from neglect. It's a great place for people who like the fun of amusement arcades but not so good for real pier lovers who just want...More

This pier seems to be just a series of slot machine penny arcade types of buildings, and you can't even get to the end of the pier as the way is barred.

Hi Steve, I would just like to reiterate the danger of the seagulls not just on the pier but even in the town of Paignton and surrounding areas. They have become fearless and brazen. We were sat on a bench and my Partner and I were totally shocked at the lightning speed with which a gull swooped and stole the whole of the hot dog he was eating. It happened in a flash; now if they are brave enough to do that to an adult goodness knows what could happen to a child. These are menaces in the sky and it seems wrong that they are protected. We even saw a total waste of resources with two fire engines deployed to rescue a seagull that had become trapped up on Alta Vista road in netting at the top of some flats. I would also like to add that I love Paignton, but people do need to be made aware of this real danger.

Yes there is a fortune teller on the pier, but she is only there in the summer months. She is on the right hand side as you go along the pier, she was also there last year.
