Visiting Compton Castle was an absolute delight. The drive was fun (narrow roads, tall hedges) and arriving at the castle was breathtaking. Architecturally the castle is beautiful and has an interesting history which was relayed in an amusing way in the garden, then chapel (as...More

Great history to this place, and worth a visit. It’s limited opening, so make sure you look up dates and times before go. Sir Walter Raleigh’s Castle.

Interesting NT visit, enjoyed climbing up the towers. Not a very large property but spent an hour looking around. Staff/volunteers are very passionate and informative. Enjoyed looking at the plants and their uses in history.
