Book in advance for a tour of the historic castle. The tour takes about an hour and is quite leisurely. Our guide was knowledgeable and happy to answer questions.

Thank you for your feedback especially regarding Chris, your guide, which I will make sure he is made aware of. Good news about your son maybe he'll be a Durham student one day studying history and living in the Castle!

We went on a guided tour of the castle. Very informative. The castle is definitely worth a visit if you enjoy going back in time. Learnt why they had carved pineapples in the stairway.

Thank you for your visit. The pineapples are a lovely feature to the staircase - every Castle should have them!
