Best type of pub.

Unspoiled traditional pub that doesn't need messing with. Friendly staff and good food. Please don't wreck any more of our pub's as there are not many left.

The food is nice (not amazing) but the staff are the worst people I have ever met. The bar man was rude and when another customer asked if he could pay by apple pay his reply was 'how am I supposed to know' they had no patience and can definitely say it's the worst service I have ever received. Unable... More

Really nice pub. Very chilled out and nice atmosphere. We went on a Sunday evening and it wasn't too full at all, just the right amount of people to be not too hectic!

Visited with a group of friends, great selection of ales and traditional decor. Lively atmosphere. One of the best bowness has to offer.

We were in Bowness over the weekend and I think we visited this place 3 times! It's like stepping back in time to when pubs were real pubs, great service, we sat outside, even in the rain under the huge umbrella and heaters, lovely door staff, just cant fault this pub at all, if you like tradition then you must... Visited the Hole in t'wall whilst holidaying in Windermere and must say it is a great old inn to visit we had food whilst there and must say the Fish pie we had was the best we have tasted in a long while and what made our visit good was the welcome we received from the staff upon our arrival... My favourite pub, old, loads of charm. Good selection of real ales and the food is excellent. Would highly recommend a visit, tucked away behind church in Bowness, food is reasonably priced too. Enjoy

We arrived on Sunday evening and the sun was shining so we decided to stay and enjoy the live music - very entertaining :-) Also went back another night and had a curry - really nice and the staff were very friendly. Would definitely recommend.
