An absolute lesson in how to turn a failing Punch Taverns back street pub into a destination Ale venue. This traditional three roomed pub with two bars and a snug was justifiably busy on the early Friday evening we rocked up and why not with...More

I have been going to this pub (in its various guises for over 30 years). When Grace and Arthur kept it we had many a happy evening at the "budgerigar" club. Having returned after a 10 year break it is good to see that it...More

Lovely pub run by the Ford family. Superb cask ale with friendly and efficient service. I wish all pubs were as good as this. Best in town.

A short walk from the town centre, this well kept pub has a number of original Art Deco features such as wood panelling and attracive stained glass in its three separate rooms. At least half a dozen beers are usually available, many of them being...More

A really good traditional pub now. Lots and lots of beers and ciders to try. A great place with friendly staff and reasonably priced beers. There are some great favourites that sell out very quickly.

My husband and his friends meet here every Thurs evening which is pretty good recommendation in itself! I have been a couple of times and the beers are excellent. Good choice and inexpensive. Very friendly atmosphere.
