We have visited many times to see the latest theatrical offering. When Theresa Heskins directs your in for a well observed, delightfully performed experience. We saw The Snow Queen and all the previous were evident. The theatre is in the round and is so different to the conventional space. Smashing areas pre performance and in the interval. Quality food. A... More

Met with SO and friend for meal before performance. Braised beef and vegetables for around £12. Beef acceptable but 3 tiny potatoes and 1 scoop of vegetables was appalling. The server had just been instructed to reduce the portions and actually appopogised that it was so pitifully lacking. Only positive is that the veg was so poor I didn't actually... More

The New Vic is an outstanding theatre. It is an unusual and very special "theatre in the round". Great atmosphere and a varied program of performances, never disappoints. Sociable bar area for a quick drink before a show, cafe selling good food if you have time.

This is a beautiful theatre in the round which offers a broad programme. I've seen the ballet, pantos, plays and family sing-a-longs. All have been excellent.

As Patrons we see most plays each season and they tend to take priority in our calendar. "Cyrano" was a joy to watch and "Beryl" was amazing. The play's author, Maxine Peake, is a woman of many talents and should be proud of her play. The actors were brilliant and were suitably applauded with a standing ovation! We will be... More

My wife and I frequently attend this excellent professional in-the-round theatre where you can be guaranteed stunning performances often created by their artistic director Teresa Hesketh. Their in-house props and costumes departments ensure the best ambiance. Actors are often multi-talented in musical instruments, song and dance. There are several productions with Northern Broadsides from Scarborough. The Christmas season always sees... More

Theatre is modern and laid out "in the round ". There is a bar upstairs and food can be bought in a cafe but you have to book a table. Bar & cafe only open at certain times. Seats were comfortable and front row seats are very close to the action. Staff all pleasant and helpful. A professional operation.

It's been ages since I've been to the theatre and this place was a really lovely surprise. The theatre in the round was fantastic and the production we saw was suited to this. We had lovely seats (comfy) and enjoyed the play alot. We now always keep an eye on the board outside to see what else is on. It's... More

Fifty years ago I was a regular at the original Vic- renowned for its immediacy, vitality, vigour and risk taking. Listen- it still is at the New Vic. Superb production of Cyrano. Now there an on site car park (£1), spacious facilities of bar, cafe, lounge and all graced by super helpful staff. Also the drink and food prices are... More
