This is a large statue of the mad king george 3rd. It is in middle of the road on an island. It is beautiful to see and have a sea bath as well. It is the centre point for weymouth.

This is where we picked up our buses when we travelled on the open topped bus to Portland Bill and also the bus to Poole. The area is clean and tidy and once at this point you can find the staff of Weymouth shopping area...More

This statue was really bright coloured and well maintained. King George III looks like he stepped right out of a book from the French Renaissance period, meanwhile the gold lion looks spectacular. Kids will love the unicorn, also painted beautifully. I am disappointed that the...More

Unfamiliar with the area, the statue is a great landmark for the bus terminals and busier areas of the town. I drove around the statue twice hunting for the free parking. It is an eye catching well preserved statue.

This well maintained statue has certainly split fellow reviewers! To me, it provides a useful landmark to everyone, whilst also acting as a trigger to those with any interest in local history to research the historical connection of George III to the town.

There is nothing to say, it is a local monument on the promenade and also a turning point for cars and buses.

Statue of King George III which commemorates his love of taking to the waters in Weymouth. It was cleaned up a lot just prior to the 2012 Olympics when the sailing took place here, and it still looks good on it.
