This 19th century fort includes a museum highlighting Weymouh's role in Britain's naval history.

Built by the Victorians to protect Portland Harbour, Nothe Fort is one of the best preserved forts of its kind. The advances in technology that affected the fort are explained through many displays, exhibits and audio visual facilities located on the ramparts, gun decks and maze of underground passageways.

Enjoy the stunning and far reaching views of the Jurassic Coast from the picnic areas on the Ramparts. These will provide one of the best vantage points on the south coast.

Didn't go into the 'Pay' bit as we have very young grandchildren with us and its not the sort of place they can run around, We instead went into the cafe which is through reception and still had some exhibits to see and read about. The cafe itself was very good and the nearby toilets exceptional clean. Outside the fort... More

Run by a charity so its not a 'slick' attraction, however it's only £8 per adult and there is a lot to explore in the underground tunnels. Fascinating history as a military site spanning over 150 years. We easily spent a couple of hours seeing everything. There is cafe on site and another in the garden area. The views from... More

Wonderful morning walk around Weymouth harbour and Nothe Fort. Beware if you are not good with a lot of steps! Wonderful gardens and views, cafe and toilets. We didn`t go inside the Fort as found it was very expensive at around £14 for two. Run by the National Trust.

Good day out for the whole family. Lots to do/explore within the fort itself and don't forget to enjoy the adjacent park.

A lovely walk up to the fort and gardens..plenty to see even if you don't pay to go in. Tip...you can use the cafe and sit inside the fort on the terrace and see plenty free of charge. Nice cream tea.

These gardens are quite simply beautiful, especially on a sunny day. We enjoyed walking along the quayside and up the steps to the gardens. Everywhere was green and the views of the quay and across to the Esplanade from the top are lovely. This is an excellent spot for a picnic or a stroll.

Our return visit and yes it's improved due to the hard work of the Volunteers. There is sonics to see from the napoleons period, through to the nuclear bunker days. Amazing guns and history make it a definite visit. The mouse hunt for the children is a great idea as they look at each display intent on finding mice whilst... More

Had a great day here, we were a party of 6 age range from 9 to 60+. Something for all from the mouse hunt for the youngest to the exhibits and wartime recreations for us older patrons. We all enjoyed the fort and lovely views plus the delicous lunch in the cafe. Definetly worth a visit good value for money.

Too expensive, £8 each and kids weren't interested. Grounds were lovely though. Snowdrops were out when we visited. Toilets were clean
