Pleasant 8 acres of grounds to wander around. I agree with other TA reviewers that charging full price out of the lily flowering season could be considered expensive to see empty looking ponds, however there is a diversity of land based plants (ferns, palms, etc) dotted around the meandering pathways to enjoy and it does feel quite serene. There's also a... I anticipated that the water lilies would not be at their best at the end of April. However, not only were there very few flowering water lilies, but the ponds were murky (with no sign of fish or wildfowl), the plantings on the banks was minimal and uninspired and the museum looked like it had been set up 20 years... we went to the gardens on Sunday 24/04/17 we were charged nearly £10 per person, we thought was very overpriced for this time of year as none of the flowers/lilies or anything was out so was very disheartened and thought we should at least have been charged half price, I can only imagine that when the gardens are out in... We went here in April and didn't expect to see all the lilies etc but for £8 per adult and taking less than an hour to walk around with a six year old I think that a lower price should be in place for this time of year. I'm not even sure if it's great value in summer as other... More

Thank you for your review, I am sorry to hear you feel the entry fee expensive, we carry out comparison research each year against similar attractions and feel our prices are fair. In addition to this as a privately funded business we rely heavily on the admissions income not just for developing the gardens, but to cover the cost of... More

We stood in a cottage near by and decided to see the Water Gardens - what a stunning place. So many different water lilies nicely arranged over many ponds. The bridge over one pond is surely the highlight. A MUST see when your are in the area. Note: There is a nice pick nick spot in the park too.

These water gardens are stunning and are easy to find at Chickerell, just two miles outside Weymouth. They are not heavily advertised, so could be considered to be a hidden gem. The reconstitution of Monet;s painting is excellent, without the crowds you will get in France. They have some 150 different types of water lily. A must visit site.
