As I was walking round Beverley, I saw the sign for it and decided to go and have a look. Though, there wasn't much to see, I was intrigued by the Northern Hemisphere Star Chart in The Vestry. If you've got any time left over,...More

Visited on Thurday 8th February 2018. This is one of the finest churches I have seen, in spite of the repair work going on at the time of visit. Best feature is the blue ceiling in the Nave. Apparently the church was developed through 400...More

A wonderful church, that people should see in addition to the more famous Beverely Minster at the other end of the town. Of particular note are the 28 15th century misericords - carvings under the seats of the choir stalls, featuring a variety of charming...More

Look at it it beautiful and interesting, so are inside. Also staff are friendly and welcoming. Also a shop and cafe. Only if I had a selfie with the church, great building and welcoming staff.

Painted ceilings, royal representations, white rabbit carving, mousey Thompson memorial door, mediaeval miserichords, minstrel carving and...More

What a lovely Church. It sits in a lovely Town too, where it seems to welcome you from afar and offers a warm welcome when you eventually get inside. Not much more to say really, it’s simply a lovely Church.

The church was founded in 1120.The Chancel ceiling dates from 1445 and depicts 40 kings of England. Look up at the vestry ceiling to see the amazing constellations. Notice the White Rabbit , a stone carving about 1330 of a rabbit carrying a scrip and...More

We visited Beverley for the first time last weekend. The town has a nice atmosphere, and there is one main pedestrianised street that houses the majority of shops, cafes and restaurants . The Minster is at one end of this street, and is the main...More

St Mary's church could be viewed as the poor relation to its bigger and more grandiose sister (Beverley Minster), but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in charm and atmosphere. It has a beautiful energy that makes you want to...More
