First time on Lundy in over 30 years. I've never stayed on the island and many of the supply boat trips don't really leave enough time, so it's worth waiting for one of the 12-hour-round trips from either Bideford or Ilfracombe; this gives sufficient time to walk right round the island and get some time in the pub. It's a... More

Stayed with a group of friends in the barn. Heating very good, kitchen well equipped plenty of books and games. The tavern food was very go and the shop was stocked with a wide variety of goods. The electricity goes off at midnight but torches were supplied. Walks and views were wonderful, lots of wildlife to see. Would I go... More

Took supply boat over to the island. Lovely peaceful two hour trip, four hours on the island, good amount of time to explore and have something to eat. Then another lovely trip back topped of with seeing Dolphins. Definitely tempted to go back for a couple of nights stay in the future.

I am not a bird watcher or a wildlife expert, but I really enjoyed my trip to Lundy. The cottage was really well heated and equipped. The staff were really helpful and everything was well organised. The shop had an amazingly good range of goods, and the pub/restaurant had a surprisingly good menu with a lot of options. I really... More

Lundy is small, windswept and barren. It's also charming, beautiful and has a unique character. The pub food is good and the accommodation is Spartan and basic in keeping with the landscape and setting. As long as you understand that small isolated island communities can't expect to offer the same kind of facilities as the mainland, you should relish your... More

Really enjoyed this visit but tough if your unfit its a long climb to the top. The pub was nice but very busy as we would expect. Fantastic scenery but really pleased we picked a good day as the sea trip over could have been unpleasant.

We startled early morning at 5.45 and drove to iifracombe parked the car and got on the bus which took us to the helicopter we weren't expecting such a long wait to get to the island but it was worth the wait . Again when we got there we had to wait to get into our accommodation so we had... More

Visited Lundy with the first sailing of the season. The voyage on board the 57 year old MS Oldenburg to and from the island was a treat. Purchasing a walking guide on board allowed us to explore the island as comprehensively as possible in the few hours we had as day trippers. The toiling climb from the landing stage to... More

Stayed four nights in March. Nice accommodation (beds very comfortable, cooking facilities fine), no wi-fi and intermittent phone signal, so a get away from it all break. The silence is amazing. Good walking (more than you'd think for such a small island) and the wildlife is marvellous - we even got to see puffins. The pub serves food, the shop... More
