This is a fantastic walk across the marshes, dogs on leads, New Forest poinies grazing on the shoreline.

So secret in fact that we we couldn't find it. We asked the wss but the route we were advised to take was blocked by a wide passage of water. Needs a bit more signage

Its good to see a piece of British engineering put to good use since it has been taken out of military use. The Bailey bridge was invented and produced in the local area and there is also a pub named after it. A small panel...More

An interesting hidden gem: Have a little walk and find the bridge. Then, because there's no sign there, read the wikipedia article about it.

You can enjoy beautiful views on this lovely walk at Stanpit Marsh, and walk on the historic Bailey Bridge. Lots of wildlife to see, as Stanpit Marsh is a bird sanctuary, including many different types of birds, swans and ducks. Wonderful views over Mudeford Quay...More
