I love Grizedale forest which is a Forestry Commission forest with sculptures, as such i've wanted to visit Forest of Dean for years. It didn't disappoint. We got a map and went off in search of sculptures, the Big Chair is awesome, the Stained glass is awesome, and there are loads of other great ones in between. I was on... More

Beautiful forest walk. Must stick to marked trail so you don't get lost. Enjoyed every minute. Took 3 and a half hours at a fairly quick pace. Would take longer with children so need water and a snack with you. There are short cuts in case of tiredness. Highly recommend

The sculpture trail is very enjoyable, despite many of the sculptures proving hard to find. They are not clearly sign posted. The tracks around the forest are well laid out, and a lovely hour can be spent there! In the summer you can come back to the cafe & children's play area. Limited access for disabled & prams.

I am sorry to say that the Trail is now badly in need of a visionary to upgrade it. We used to go round with our children in the 1980s, and things like The Chair and the deer in the swamp were interesting and inspiring. Now, accompanying grand children, many of the older exhibits have seen better days (or in... More

Sounded interesting from the website, however i was not all that impressed with it. The only thing i'd say is that you get the exercise! its a long way around. The whale was my favourite.

Lovely forest for an easy family style walk. Reasonably flat & easy to manoeuvre with a pram. Dog friendly. Recommend parking at Speech House park which has free parking & is on the right about half a mile before beechurst lodge if coming from Gloucester. Sculptures are mediocre but it provides something a bit different. Would be nice to have... More

Great walk through forest, surfaces are all maintained for easy access for wheelchairs/pushchairs. The walk is well signposted and easy to follow without many steep hills. The cafe and other facilities available at beechenhurst means you can easily spend the entire day here.

First and foremost… the parking is for all day and while the sculpture trail can take a number is hours, make the most of it. It can be used at other forestry commission sites so make a day of it or have other locations planned. My wife and I came here hoping to combine a nice walk with a cultural... More
