We enjoyed our visit, staff at reception very welcoming offering us maps for walks that can be done from the house to the church at Hanbury. We had our own walk to combine with visiting the house which can be downloaded from the NT website. Only 4 downstairs rooms and 2 upstairs rooms open for us it was enough just... More

Rather a waste of time and money in my opinion. Winter opening has a reduced entrance fee, but also has reduced number of rooms open and not a lot to see in the gardens. Website advertises dedicated disabled parking and drop off point for those with limited mobility. Could not see any dedicated parking and driveway to house was chained... More

We took the weekend before Christmas as a 'get away from it all' long weekend, staying in the NT cottage in the Lodge at the entrance to the estate. Very comfortable and cosy place to stay and good for walks. Hanbury Hall was a wonderful visit (apart from the cafe!!). The house itself felt 'lived in' and it was easy... More

We went here with three young children to visit Santa. When arrives we couldn't get to see Santa as we were pushed for time and all available slots were booked but the 'elves' were amazing and squeezed us in so our children weren't disappointed. Really lovely staff and much appreciated by three very excited, giggly children!

Visited as wanted to see Christmas setting. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Beautiful Christmas tree in hallway under stairs with feathers and lights. Other rooms decorated with trimmings tree with dried flowers looked pretty. Tea room open and as weather mild can sit outside. Toilets redecorated since last visit and facilities much better. Bought books from the small outdoor sunhouse.... More

Been here a few times but not near Christmas. Beautiful large tree in the main hall and a few other's dotted around in some other rooms. Well worth visiting at this time of year.

We are just reviewing whether to renew our National Trust membership and made the effort to visit a couple of local properties today, We enjoyed our short visit to Hanbury Hall, although access within the house was restricted, as many bedrooms had been closed off for the winter. The atmosphere and attitude of the volunteer staff was very warm and... More

Spent a wonderful evening at Hanbury Hall. Delightful performance courtesy of Eboracum Baroque. Fabulous setting. Problem was there were no lights, the car park was in complete darkness & there was no one to offer direction. There are several cattle grids close to the entrance to the house which in itself are hazardous. Really think this needs addressing before someone... More

This is another lovely historic attraction 'on our doorstep' open to us by our National Trust membership. Thanks NT. My wife & I have visited Hanbury Hall twice this year and have enjoyed learning of the family history of this fine house; gazing at & admiring the formal gardens; and walking the extensive country grounds. We are now looking forward... More
