- Elizabeth H1 contributionGreat place to visitFantastic time but can easily walk round in under 2 hours. Definitely went on the right day as they were not many people there so we could spend plenty of time in each section. The penguins and the under water tunnel were fantastic and we saw a huge turtle swim over the top of us. Used a voucher from a leaflet so the tickets were not too bad a price either.Hello elizabethhR9493HP Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback on your recent visit and its lovely to hear you had a fantastic time with us and we hope to see you again in the future. - Rhiannon M1 contributionGood day out! But too expensive!Incredible sealife. Price is ridiculous though, we were only able to visit with a kelloggs voucher that made the price seem more reasonable. We really did enjoy ourselves but entry fees are very too much. Also, you should warn people about the green screen photo on entry. I wore a green shirt today, photos showed my floating head and my child - ha!Hello 12rhiannonm Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback on your recent visit to SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth, its great to hear that you enjoyed your visit with us. - CrickyIpswich, United Kingdom36 contributionsWhat else is there to do on a rainy day in Great Yarmouth?Me, my girlfriend & our 9 month old little girl visited on Tuesday afternoon when the weather was very wet. Me & my girlfriend have both been but not since we were young. It was very much an enjoyable afternoon and our little girl loved it! Anyone who is thinking of visiting with very young children I’d say do it. It’s fantastic for their sensory. I would say on the day full price admission is a little to expensive for what it is but there’s plenty of deals to be found including pre booking. Wouldn’t visit regularly but will definitely be back. Out of 10 I would give it a 8 out of 10.Hello cricky87 Thank you for taking the time to write to us with your comments regarding your visit to Sea life Great Yarmouth. - Amanda W1 contributionBest Sea Life Centre I've been toWe went to the Great Yarmouth Sea Life Centre as a large family group which included 2 toddlers. It's by far the best Sea Life Centre I've ever been to, thanks to the penguins, the rainforest section, and the rock pool at the end where we got to touch a starfish. The staff were very friendly and the gentleman serving us at the photo desk told us lots of facts about starfish and octopus while preparing our photo gifts. The kids absolutely loved it, they were fascinated by everything. I can't recommend this place enough, it was such good fun.Hello O4314NPamandaw Thank you for taking the time to write to us with your comments regarding your visit to Sea life Great Yarmouth. - DaveWNorfolkWatton, United Kingdom101 contributionsJamie went above and beyond24 4-7 year old Rainbows / Brownies and 6 adults on a sleepover. We had arranged external food to be delivered on arrival, but the delivery got cancelled last minute, as we came by coach had no transport but jamie saved the day and drove myself to collect food. After food Jamie gave a great tour and kept the girls interested despite some being very young. Staff supervised while everyone got ready for bed and helped get everyone settled. Next morning Jamie still with a smile and a joke sorted everyone's breakfast and then managed the gift shop while they all brought a little souvenir each. Sleeping over at sealife was a different experience and made very enjoyable by the help of the staff especially JamieHello DaveWNorfolk Thank you for taking the time to write to us with your comments regarding your sleepover at Sea life Great Yarmouth. - Joan CNewcastle, United Kingdom3 contributionsGreat day outMy husband and I were on a bus trip holiday and found we had an extra day to fill So we decided to visit sea world. We stayed for 2/1/2 bourse and returned act 2/30 mainly to watch the penguins feed again. The staff were very good and explained all about the animals, the lad with the stick insects was also very good and also explained all about the penguins. All of the staff were great,BUT my only gripe was having to book online, and even a coffee and ice cream had to be paid with a card, no cash! What a sad state of affairs! What is this country coming to. Had I not have had my card I could not have made the visit or enjoyed a coffee and Ice cream. So if this is the case at other sea world centre I will not be visiting, which is a great shame as I can see numbers of visitor being reduced. Mrs Joan cutts MBEThank you for your review We are pleased you had a great day out and you found our team were great. The centre went cashless during the pandemic to reduce the risk of transmission to our guests and team members. We took the business decision to keep this in place due as the saving on our insurance and cash collections help us to pass on the savings to our guests despite increased costs in wages and energy prices meaning we can still operate as a business and stay affordable to visit. We hope to see you again in the future.Written 1 October 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 27 September 2023

Paid £2.50 to feed the fish which I felt was a little princess for what you got. Penguins were good and being feed when we walked round. We walked round twice. Couldn't see crocodile that was advertised. Good day out. Good for little o es. My 1 year old loves it.Thank you for your review We are pleased you had a really nice day out at our attraction. We have over 1,500 sea creatures for guests to discover and there are two African dwarf crocodile which are situated just after the yellow submarine Ray area. We are pleased that you highly recommend our attraction. I thought we would use our Tesco voucher to pay for the visit. We were quite frustrated to see that the prices ‘jumped’ by £4 each when wanted to use the vouchers which meant that we had to use £24 of vouchers to just pay the extra for the 6 of us! We therefore ended up paying over half the price ourselves.
My frustration was compounded when we got there and the people in front had used the ‘2 for 1’ offer, but had not bought any voucher, so the lady at the top said ‘just remember you are meant to bring one next time, if you do it again’. So we ended up using £15 (converted to £45) of Tesco vouchers to pay more than they people who were allowed in for half price!
Once in, the aquarium is very small. We had to wait outside for 30 minutes until our slot, and then were in and around in a similar time. All together, very disappointed. I wish we had used the vouchers on something else!

Hi chrissJ2181VI
Thanks for your review , There are numerous promotions available and during the pandemic pre - booking time slots online helps us manage capacity so this is why we can not allow early entry into the attraction to help keep our staff and guests safe during this period of social distancing . As your visit only lasted 30 minutes, One factor which may have a bearing is the time taken to investigate each of our displays. Sea creatures seldom line up to be admired of course, and those who derive most from a visit to Sea Life are invariably those who linger at each display and make sure they see everything, if necessary asking one of our friendly staff to help point out the more elusive creatures and explain some of their fascinating features. We sincerely hope you will visit again and explore more thoroughly.
Kind regards

We got through the entire thing in about 20 minutes and we stopped and took pictures of lots of the animals and read all the information. If it was under £10 I wouldn’t have minded as much, but nearing £20 it really wasn’t worth it. However the inside is really lovely, the decor is amazing and all the different displays look amazing! The social distancing aspect was good, the inside wasn’t too hot so wearing a mask wasn’t unbearable. The gift shop is also reasonably priced. Of course the money does go to charity which is the upside to it, but the price is still steep. I’d go as far to say that the Hunstanton one is better!

So we turn up in Grest Yarmouth to see you must pre book because of Covid that instantly is annoying due to travelling 40 minutes.
We then decide to pre book a couple of days later. We can't get in at the times needed and the prices were nearly £90 for 2 adults and 3 children.
Id rather head to the local aquatic shop.

Hi achemist
We are currently going through a pandemic and i think you will find most places are pre- booking only . This is to ensure we keep everyone safe while we social distance. There are lots of promotional vouchers available that can currently be used online.
But thank you for leaving your opinion on the visit you did not have.

Visited a week ago with Covid restrictions in place. We thankfully booked for opening which meant we were the first in which is great because otherwise no one, including the staff adhered to social distancing. We were required to wear masks so it didn’t concern us too much but if it’s an issue for you, don’t visit.
Would advise booking early and securing the all day parking along the sea front road for £7, otherwise the car parks are extortionate.
The sea life centre itself is surprisingly small, and even taking our time we were in and out in less than 45 minutes. The best area is the tunnel through to the main aquarium but even that is a bit of a let down compared to other sites, and yet we paid more than for Brighton and London, by a few pound.
Sadly the site is a it worn and the animals few and far between in some areas. There were no staff or demonstrations which would be fine if the cost had been significantly reduced but it’s not and if (as we did) you get to the end unexpectedly and want to go back, you can’t because of social Distancing.
All in all a very disappointing experience for a very high cost. We genuinely had more fun at the £10 adventure golf about a 5 minute walk away which actually took longer than the Sea Life Centre.

Thank you for your feedback.
We welcome constructive criticism and always endeavour to learn from our guests comments and make improvements where possible. We are sorry you felt the Sea Life centre was too small.. Yes the attraction is compact by comparison with some, but we believe the ingenuity of its design and layout has enabled us to maximize the space and provide a substantial and absorbing experience for anyone willing to take the time to investigate thoroughly. It takes more than a cursory glance to spot all our fishy residents and to appreciate their finer qualities. That is why we have friendly staff on duty to help point out the more elusive creatures, and provide a deeper insight into their fascinating lives. We hope you will visit again some time and make a more leisurely, more thorough exploration, perhaps seeking the help of one of our resident experts. If you do, we are confident you will change your opinion. We are unable to offer talks at the moment due to group gatherings and Covid regulations and social distancing guidelines.
Kind regards

A thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours, all 3 of us had a fantastic time . Highlights were the jelly fish and watching the rays spin around ( if you visit you will understand) . Had to pre book due to Covid 19 but that’s the norm these days. Social distancing is in place and face masks are required . Take your time when you visit and don’t feel too pressured to move on if people are behind, plenty of space to step aside and then go back. They are running a one way one lap system which works but there is a danger you will be pressured to move on too quickly and it’s not the largest aquarium in the world. Take your time and enjoy, we had a great time and definitely one to revisit in the future.

We visited during our week’s stay in Great Yarmouth. As Merlin Pass holders we pre-booked and our entry was free (save for the £1 securing fee).
Staff were friendly and informative.
Having read some adverse reviews and the Centre’s constructive responses, we took our time at each section, taking in the detailed information signs/screens and spending time watching the beautiful and majestic sea creatures.
The kids loved it and so did we.
Granted it’s not the biggest Sea Life Centre we’ve been to but, as per the responses given to some of the adverse reviews, you do need to spend time at each station learning about the creatures and their habitats. If you just walk through, having a cursory look, you won’t benefit from the experience.
We enjoyed our day and the Centre was very Covid secure, which is comforting.

We visited today 14th July and had a great time. They take bookings only so make sure you pre book a time slot (having said that if it’s quiet I’m sure they wouldn’t turn you away!). We used Tesco clubcard vouchers that they are still taking.
Very organised on entry, staff were really friendly. Hand sanitiser’s everywhere so all feels very COVID safe.
Penguins were our favourite (make sure you don’t miss them.)
The restaurant is open for guests visiting the Sealife centre only (they do takeaway for other guests). This meant there was plenty of space and nice to sit down. All table service so again all feels very safe.
I’d definitely recommend a visit, especially with young families.

My husband and I visited the Sealife Centre in Yarmouth with my sister in-law and nephew.
The venue is smaller than expected, it only took 45 minutes to go around, but was still a great visit. We had vouchers which we'd used when booking our tickets online so we felt that we got good value for money.
The staff were covid aware and made sure everyone adhered to the requirements. Be prepared to have your temperature taken before being allowed entry.
The venue felt very clean throughout the walk around, which made us feel relaxed during the visit.

We visited the Sealife Centre and booked a time slot to visit under the current COVID guidelines. We felt very safe during our visit, all staff wore face masks and gloves and all visitors wore masks too. There were arrows to space people out and everything was very well organised.
The children loved the experience and seeing all the different fish and sea creatures. There were some interactive elements as well which were carried out safely, the children enjoyed this too.
I would definitely recommend this for a couple of hours of family entertainment.

We visited during the summer holidays and it was understandably busy. We pre booked tickets as the website and sinage outside said pre booking was required.
When we arrived for our time slot, people were just turning up and paying, so what is the point of saying prebooking is essential? They need to make up their mind on this one, as it was frustrating that we had planned our day around the time slot, when we could have just turned up.
The centre itself is well laid out, quite small - we spent about an hour there, not the best value for money to be honest. We have had other days out which cost similar and were a full day. Our kids enjoyed themselves though ( 6 and 1).
The penguin pool looked like it needed a good clean out. When we were in the viewing area all we could really see was murky water and much penguin poo. I've seen much cleaner penguin enclosures, so I am a bit concerned for the welfare of the penguins.
The underwater tunnel was really cool, definitely the highlight of the trip.
Overall we wouldn't rush back, £54 for a family of 4 for about an hour is too much - and judging by other reviews, lots of people feel the same.

Hello Kate K
Thank you for your review, pre booking is essential however there may be some exceptions.
With regards to the concern of the penguins we are regularly checked by vets and our latest independent zoo inspection raised no concerns. We are Biaza accredited so I hope this goes some way to reassure you that all is well but please feel free to contact us with regards to any other questions or concerns you may have.

Thanks for your question, buying a ticket on the door as an individual visitor is currently £16.60, but if there are two or more in your group the family saver ticket deal works out to be £14.80. If you pre book online, you can save around 30% on the on-the-door admission price.
There are discount vouchers around and about, and all these are valid against the £16.60 price.
For up to date prices we always recommend checking online, or give us a call.
Hope this helps and we look forward to seeing you over the weekend!
Kind Regards
Paul R

Hi I am using the sun's 2 for 1 vouchers to visit the sea life centre, can I still pay for the tickets needed with the love to shop vouchers? Or can I not use the vouchers with the promotion?

Hi katharine...
Thank you for your query. Firstly please do check your Sun 2 for 1 voucher as there are expiry dates on them and I'm not sure if there are any that are valid at the moment. Also, to my knowledge we do not accept Love to Shop vouchers (we do accept Leisure Vouchers which could be used in conjunction with a 2 for 1 voucher, BUT you wouldn't be able to use a promotional entry (for example a Tesco (Club Card) Sealife Entry voucher).
I hope this is not too confusing but if you have any further queries please call us here at the centre and we can clarify for you.
Looking forward to your visit, Kind regards!

Hi, do you have to print the tickets or can you just show them on your phone?

If you have a Smart Phone or device that can display the second email you will be sent, we can get all the info we need from that.
Many Thanks and look forward to seeing you soon!!

Hi Huw C
Thanks for your question. I know SeaLife recieve hundreds of thousands of visitors every year which come to view our anazing creatures and learn about our conservation ethos (Breed, Rescue & Protect). As for individual site visits, this can vary from week to week and indeed year to year. In all fairness I couldn't comment here at Great Yarmouth SL on Birmingham SL's numbers, but hope my response has helped you.
Kind regards
