To be honest we went here to get out of the rain, but ended up spending some time because it was so interesting. It wasn’t busy so didn’t have to look over peoples’ shoulders at the exhibits and could take our time. It’s free.

Spent a great 2-3 hours looking round the interesting artefacts that they've collected here. Really explains the history of Orkney and how it's developed over the years. Free too!

Wow, this free museum is really interesting! I especially loved the authentic jewellery from Skara Brae. They have it set up so that it looks modern. Interesting neolithic pottery exhibit too.

The Orkney Museum gives a good insight into the history of the island and its inhabitants. There are many artifacts to view with wonderful explanations of each exhibit. The tour is self paced and a nice break from downtown shopping.

There was a chair lift I saw for a wheelchair that allowed access to different floors of the museum. They may be able to accommodate you with that?
