I can never believe that some of the nicest museums in Scotland are free. Loved this one! You need to be able to tackle all those stairs but it added character to the museum and all the different themes.

I didn't expect such a fabulous museum. The rooms offer interesting facts about the history of Orkney. The objects are well chosen. Take your time to enjoy all the displays.

The museum took one through the ages of Orkney history and was presented in a clear modern way, aimed at all visitors, from children upwards.

There was a chair lift I saw for a wheelchair that allowed access to different floors of the museum. They may be able to accommodate you with that?
