Gauntlet, Eagle & Vulture park is the largest bird of prey park in the Northwest of England. With over 120 birds of prey, ranging from the smallest owls to the worlds largest eagle and Vultures it really is a haven for animal lovers. Gauntlet has two daily shows at 12.30 and 3 during the months March-Oct and during the winter months weekends only. As well as our two daily displays we have vulture feeding and meet & greet. We have a large children's play area with plenty of room for picnics. We are on the same site as Fryers garden centre and you can leave at anytime and come back for our displays. For those wishing to get closer we have bird of prey experiences which are run 7 days a week throughout the year. This gives people the opportunity to handle and fly the birds.

My fiancée bought me a half day experience day here and we went today. Was absolutely amazing. Our guide for the day was called Beth and she was friendly, helpful and really knowledgable and also very patient when I messed up the knot tying bit! I got to handle a few different birds: Harris hawks and loads of owls. I... More

We had a lovely day here , the flying displays are the hi light of the day and make sure you see both of them. The talk alongside it is very interesting. Staff are so friendly there. The play area is great also.

A wonderful place to visit with birds you would never get to see close up. They totally rely on visitors and their donations to look after these birds. Fascinating to learn of the plight of the endangered birds - the vultures were wonderful, the children loved seeing the meerkats too.

This is a great day out for families or adults. The staff are very knowledgeable about all the birds and I think trully love them all. We missed the met and great as we left to have lunch in the nearby Fryers it turned out to be a mistake as it took to long to get back in time for... More

My wife recently treated me to an Eagle encounter at Gauntlet having found out I had a secret birdwatching hobby and love of birds of prey when I was growing up. I had little idea what to expect from the day apart from seeing some birds up close. The day was amazing though, thanks to the brilliant and patient staff... More

We had an hour taster it was really funny to be up close holding, petting, and feeding the owls. There was a variety of big and small owls all with their own personalities. The trainer Jenny was great, very knowledgable and fun. We stayed for the the meet and greet and the display which was really cool as the birds... More

A fantastic experience, the display was great, very informative. The girls are so committed and obviously love and care for the birds. Thanks to Jenny, who assisted me to have a great xperience, flying Eric, Terry and Ruby. I fulfilled a lifelong ambition! Highly recommend.
