This was our first time at the tea rooms and what a pleasant time we had. The tea room itself is very interesting with original features and great ambiance. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating- when I couldn't decide between coffee cake and lemon drizzle I was offered a 'small' piece of each - as these were actually nearly... More

Visited on a busy Sunday afternoon and while the surroundings were impressive, the food was overpriced and rather disappointing. Loved the vintage china but £15 for afternoon tea consisting of a few bits of bread (with barely any filling) and small, rock hard scones was extortionate! We didn't complain on the day as it was a charity event but I'm... More

What a lovely spot, hidden away and a great tea room where we had a delicious lunch although the portions were enormous! The house is most interesting and worth a visit if you like to be transported back in time, the guides are very knowledgeable and the views are stunning too. The art and the furniture are wonderful although unfortunately... More

I've been to Tabley House grounds a number of times, but never ventured inside the house. But what a gem! Packed full of great art and furniture, beautifully presented. Once inside, you really feel transported back to an earlier time - so evocative. The lovely ladies (not sure whether they are staff or volunteers) who guide you through every room... More

What a fabulous find: a beautiful tearoom hidden away yet on the main road to Knutsford. This is everything a tearoom should be: the most important being that they serve proper loose leaf tea none of the teabag rubbish. The second important point is that the tea is served in China cups. Tea always tastes better from a China cup.... More

Visited tea rooms and house today with my mum. The team rooms are in a beautiful room with so much history attached. Unfortunately we both agreed that the food we had was very mediocre. Under done poached eggs on 2 barely toasted crumpets with hollandaise sauce. We didn't want the ham that should have come with them, we were charged... More

We visited with friends who have lived locally for over 30 years but had not discovered this gem. It's poorly signed as it shares part of its building with Tabley House Care Home. There is plenty of parking and a charming tea room. There are several large rooms open to the public, at a charge of £5 a head. There... More

Visited with my Husband, as a treat after an operation, we were warmly greeted, all delicious home cooked food and cakes, thoroughly enjoyed, nothing to much trouble for Debbie and Mark the people who currently run it, with pleasant staff. Have been a few times. Always worth a visit to see a wonderful, atmospheric Chapel without charge.

Fantastic tea room with top food. I can highly recommend the tranquil environment and peaceful atmosphere of the Cheshire countryside. The owner of the tea room was very welcoming and lovely to talk too. I am so glad we have discovered this "hidden gem" at our doorstep.
