This place was well worth a visit, different from a National Trust as the house is still lived in by the family and this gives the estate a personal touch. A lovely maze to explore and the place where the first hovercraft was tested! Worth booking on a tour to see the house rooms!

It was during this summer we cycled to the hall, we had been before, but this visit was special, we had a secret agenda ( could we get married there in the garden), a lot of the gardens are naturalised which is what we like, but with other formal plots for the balance The hall is delightful with much authentic... What an amazing venue for a wedding! Luckily we had great weather, so many of the pictures were taken outside in the beautiful gardens. The wedding itself was conducted in the Orangery which was very relaxed and informal.

I visited by myself, as a keen photographer it's sometimes easier that way! Very easy to find and large free car park. After you pay you walk through the cafe into the gardens. The house is about a 5-10 leisurely walk through the beautiful gardens. On this occasion I didn't visit the house. On my previous visit I did do... More

Me and my husband booked Somerleyton Hall for our Wedding which was held on 23/5/2015. We wanted a traditional English wedding within a grand setting. We hired Somerleyton hall for the whole weekend, which allowed us to start our celebrations early. We had access to the whole of the west wing of the hall and gardens. We were blown away... More

We enjoyed our visit and the tour. Although we felt the tour didn't cover very much of the house, we did like what we did see and hear. The morning tea scone was incredible, one between us was ample! The gardens are very beautiful, the sunken garden in particular, and the massive trees were very impressive. Well worth a visit.

This as a treat for the children. They loved it, so much care and attention goes into the care of the maze and gardens. Will visit again.

More than 20 years ago was our last visit and how we enjoyed it back then! Unfortunately we were disappointed or perhaps too spoiled by all those National Trust and English Heritage houses? For instance: no Wifi to share the beautiful photos instantly, not to mention the very dry, expensive sandwiches and the not so clean toilets. The guided tour... More

During our holiday to Great Yarmouth, we can across Somerleyton Hall and Gardens on the Internet as a great place to go for a walk. For less than £7 each for myself and my fiancé and free for our 1 year old, it wasn't too expensive for the sights and walk you get to go on. There are several different... More
