Arrive first thing to enjoy the lovely gardens at Barnsdale in peace. Those over a certain age will be thrilled to see the very personal gardens of the lovable, greatly missed Geoff Hamilton. An earlier review complained that the gardens are a bit samey, which...More

A wonderful garden that demands a return visit in Spring. Great inspiration and very well planed out to ensure we managed to see all the individual gardens that each had their own personality.

Went to Barnsdale Gardens yesterday with the Local Gardening Group. What a disappointment. Advertised as 38 gardens in an 8-acre site. The gardens looked the same and not very well kept, with the same plants. The route around the gardens didn’t flow well. As one...More

A super day out. Roam at your leisure through these adventurous plantings and allow your imagination to take you to different situations. Evocative, colourful, compact yet enormous. Very easy to walk round this site. We enjoyed a good sized, fresh sandwich in the tea room....More

A well set out garden providing lots of ideas and inspiration. Makes a very enjoyable afternoon. More labelling of plants and growing tips would be helpful.

It had been raining most of the day prior to the time of our mid-afternoon visit and, although some of the plants had been affected by this, it didn’t stop us enjoying our quiet, relaxing, walk around. Initiated by the Gardeners World presenter, Geoff Hamilton,...More

38 smaller 'TV' gardens situated within several acres of land so plenty to look at & enjoy. Some are very recognisable from Geoff Hamilton's time on TV. Unfortunately they do not seem as well maintained as we would have expected in spite of the presence...More

Not being dog owners we hadn't taken notice of the arrangements for dogs. It appears that they can't be taken into the garden, but there's a small shaded parking area close to the entrance where they can be left in cars.
