Dark , cold , dirty smelly toilets. Let down I feel. Only needs clean toilets , heat. The food is fine , the beer is fine. Just need to stop your teeth chattering. Warmer outside.

Wherever you sit in this place you can smell the toilet! I've been a few times and every time it smells. Really needs sorting out. Won't be returning.

This famous old pub somewhat marred by modern intrusions: television screens and gaming machines. The inexpensive-looking menu redolent of a Weatherspoon's or other chains. Our Doom Bar served in a barrel glass - always a nice touch - but the beer itself was very average.

Regular visitor to the pub socially and had several team meetings there. Far better now than it used to be! Staff always pleasant, they even remember my drinks order :)

Absolutely dire device plus the place is filthy and drinks. Was planning on eating here but left after 1 drink.

Such a pity this beautiful old building is ran by completely incompetent staff. Dirty, food way below standard and grumpy staff. Certainly would not return until Stonegate Pubs are no longer running it into the ground.

The staff at the bar were good, but the food came out completely wrong mash was rock hard, gravy was like water and when complained staff were rude and argumentative, do not recommend this place my 10 year old sister can cook better than this

The pub itself is quite nice, however the same can't be said about the staff. Very rude and unfriendly.
