My australian boyfriend and I have visited here a few times when in Wolverhampton! It's a proper old fashioned English pub with the tempting '10 real ales' posters! They don't offer food but there is the option to bring your own in - which I think is a fab idea! (To be honest when you try the ales food is... More

Lovely little place in the middle of the town. Nice and cosy especially in the winter and a great selection of ales.

Yes....the Danes, I believe, call this kind of lovely, life affirming cosiness " hygge".... and Hayley has mastered it beautifully in her lively city centre oasis. Thank you for taking time to review us. More

Excellent staff with a passion for the beer they serve. Being a Saturday when Wolves were playing at home it was busy but service was still quick. I would recommend to Real ale drinkers but with the amount of ales on offer i'd suggest a non game day so you an enjoy them all

This authentic pub has recently been taken over by a fabulous and passionate owner who talked to us for 1/2 hour about the history of the place. They also invite you to bring your own food and buy a drink. The church next door is beautiful.

Dropped into the Lych Gate Tavern for the 'City Voices Poetry' Evening. Was immediately met with pleasant and friendly welcome, nice 'feel' to the place and an impressive selection of real ales. After City Voices had finished, we stopped in the pub for the rest of the evening and had a really enjoyable evening.

Great looking pub. Great beer. Great service. Just great. Sat night with a couple of mates. Not as busy as the last time I visited but it is fairly small so feels busy.

This is a fairly traditional pub. It stocks a great range of well kept ales. I don't like the atmosphere, I am in my mid thirties and always feel like I'm the youngest person in there when we visit. Although, my wife really likes it!

Thank you....your comments interest us greatly. It is always good, and thought provoking to hear from a customer who doesn't quite feel what we hope for. Real ale pubs often feel a bit traditional.....but the warmth and care put into them brings something lovely to many. We hope your wife continues to guide you........and if in doubt, another pint of... More
