Great venue for any event if you want to be taken back to the nostalgic days of old theater , great setting , binoculars still on the seats for viewing the performance

I think our mistake was to book seats at the back of the stalls, which I wouldn't recommend for any performance of visual impact. The overhang from the gallery above was considerable and low, and we couldn't see too well for the heads of the people in front. The stalls bar seemed tiny and the selection of drinks rather limited.... More

A beautiful opera house. Cultured and classical. Well worth visiting for solo, families or groups. A piece of the past kept beautiful for the present.

Booked a last minute show here (which wasn't to our taste in the end) but the theatre was beautiful and we would definitely visit it again. The prices were reasonable, we had a great view from the front row of the balcony and the staff were really welcoming and friendly. Recommended.

An elegant opera house with the grand staircase and art nouveau glass features. An unexpected beauty for its architecture and shows. Located in the Derbyshire countryside so you need an overnight stay.

We came to see the ENO on 2 nights and were not disappointed! Booking tickets was easy, the information regarding parking, places to eat etc was most helpful and we felt that the staff were relaxed and helpful. The performances and acoustics were excellent. Seating in the Dress Circle was good both in row A and row B. As a... More

This evening. Visited the wonderful Buxton Opera Housd. A quaint little theatre. Beautiful architecture. Traditional setting with small bar for coffees, soft drinks or something a little stronger. Usherettes guiding people to seats when slightly late for the performance and ice cream sellers at interval too. Very British old fashioned Opera house. Long may she reign. Robert Cray was absolutely... More

Beautiful building, Lovely location and staff very welcoming and accommodating. Only disappointment is when I booked box seats in D Box it never said there would be impairments with the stage as there were large lights in the way ... The seats weren't marked or laid out, the couple who came in after us had no view at all and... More

We were in Buxton for the Big Session Festival- 2 of the gigs were in the Opera House. Beautifully maintained, friendly and helpful (mostly volunteer) staff- and great bands. Toilets (as always in theatres of this vintage) are inadequate for today's needs. Set alongside a lovely recently restored park, handy for hotels and shops. Agreat venue, we've been before, we'll... Visited the opera house Buxton on a number of occasions but not for a while until recently when we returned to see a show. Just as lovely as I remember, it has been kept in beautiful order in its original Edwardian style, even if you don't go for a show its worth when its open asking for a peek inside,... More
