Visiting Hay-on-Wye we took time to wander the market stalls located a stones throw from the Hay Castle Ruins. Interesting market with a good mix of stalls - most interesting were the bric-a-brac stalls! Lots to see with good prices should anything take your fancy!

Thanks for your review of Hay Market Day. Pleased to hear you enjoyed the bric a brac stalls (always guaranteed a bargain!). We’ve got a new flea stall now, so do pop back one day!

We came on a Thursday for the Castle tour so had a look around this market. There were not a vast number of stalls but a good variety and some nice quality goods.

Great locally cooked food especially pies and bread. Lovely busy atmosphere and friendly people. Lots of places for lunch and a drink afterwards. Parking not too much of a problem.

Kids loved the book shops. Lots bargains to be had. Ice cream parlour was a major hit. Tiny shop by car park, can't remember its name but it sells fairy houses and dragons and jewellery, amazing shop. Alladin's cave. Absolutely wonderful.

I visited the market the day before the annual Hay Festival and suspect some stalls were missing. Some great fresh local produce and interesting "antiques". Seemed lacking in substance.

Loads of local food stalls, handmade items from all over. Worth a visit if you're passing or in Hay, on a Thursday.
