It was a cloudy day but we spent a good Hour/hour and half exploring these ruins. It was the rain that sent us away as there is no shelter and ,although the paths are safe and wheelchair friendly, the stones and grassy slopes were slippery...More

We visited on a particularly grey day but could still imagine that the views from the castle over the river and rolling hills would be exceptional in sunshine. Castle itself is impressive although undergoing some work.

The outside it's actually impressive and nice but the inside is just ruins and probably not worth it. If you want to see fascinating ruins go to Tintern Abbey.

Wonderful visit. Enjoyed all aspects of this visit. The doors, stone work and design of the castle are so unique. Lovely views.

To really gain the maximum impact from Chepstow Castle park in the car park at the top of the town, you have a good view looking down on the vista of the town and the castle. Then go through the side opening by the pay machines,...More

The castle looks a bit bare and not allowed to keep your bags at the desk whilst you look around and there's too many stairs involved.

Spent an hour looking around the castle, which provides fantastic views of the town and the lower River Wye which runs beside the castle. There was a great viewing platform that provided a great view of the river below, with the castle perched on top...More

Had a quick visit here this morning, interesting structure & grounds well kept / maintained. Only £6.50 entry & can comfortably view the whole castle in less than an hour.

I arrived at the castle after it had closed, so I had a walk around the castle walls which was nice.

Chepstow Castle is a rather big castle by the Welsh border. There are some nice views and there's quite a lot to explore. It was interesting. There's a big pay and display car park near the castle.

Not worth answering that question really is it? You could just of easily spent 30 seconds checking the info on the Chepstow Castle website rather than wasting your time and anyone elses on here. Der!
Good afternoon JonoJonesy, before I start I feel slightly miffed that I missed Bad Manners as they are one of my favourite bands from the 80's. (We also missed Goldie looking chain last night Grrrrr....) I'm going there tonight to see Bellowhead and was wondering if you could give us any tips or tricks? (where best to stand etc plus the price of a pint and so forth). Many thanks
