How exciting to watch live through the telescope the dad bring a trout for the mother bird to feed to the chicks! You would think there should have been a queue to get a view but the place was really accessible. Staff were knowledgeable but were not intrusive. Even more delightful was sitting watching the woodland birds visiting the feeders from the comfort of a bench inside the heated centre. There were so many birds and of a wonderful selection all really close and easy to identify.

What a lovely and peaceful way to spend a few hours. The visitor centre staff were friendly and helpful. We spent time indoors at the viewing window watching the different woodland birds at the feeders.

We then visited the hides complete with telescopes and seating which enabled us to view one of the Ospreys surveying the loch from the top of the camera pole! The camera is trained on the nest and is in the actual visitor centre.

My visit was wonderful, an absolute tonic for the mind. I went in particular to take some photos of Red Squirrels but was entertained by so much more. The bird and squirrel feeding stations were full of birds and the occasional squirrel. You can view them from indoors or outside which was my preference for taking photos.

Two hides look out over the loch and staff are on hand to talk about what you can see.

The staff were particularly friendly and I enjoyed chatting with them.

It’s a small centre, no big walks around the loch or in the woodland, although I do believe there is a walk from the car park just outside the visitor centre.

It cost around £5 which was well worth the experience and it goes towards the work of the Scottish Wildlife Trust.

I should begin by saying that we went when the ospreys had returned to Africa. As a result the reserve was quiet and peaceful, and awash with wonderful birds to look at out on the water and on the shores of the loch. There were also a number of fallow deer clearly visible, grazing and relaxing in the woods. The hides are excellent and the little visitor centre has an excellent viewing window from which to watch the tree feeding birds. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Just a delightful place.

We both thoroughly enjoyed our time watching the birds at the Visitor centre. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful with all questions we asked. We’ll hopefully go back in March to see the ospreys when they come back to their nesting sites. The hides were well placed to view the birds on the loch. Highly recommended.

We loved visiting this site. The precautions in place for these Covid times made us feel very safe throughout the visit. The staff were friendly and welcoming and keen to pass their knowledge of wildlife on to us. The view of the loch from the hide is beautiful, though we were too late for the ospreys this time. We did see a large group of greylag geese on the water. The highlight for us on this visit was watching the red squirrels from the visitor centre - truly delightful! The SWT is working hard to protect these lovely little animals.

What a super find! Well worth the small entry fee into the visitor centre and hides to watch the birds over the Loch and the Osprey via really clear webcam images. Plenty parking too.

We loved sitting chatting to the super friendly Irishman working at the visitor centre and learning all about the local birds and wildlife. Saw quite a few birds, but particularly loved seeing the stunning Greater Spotted Woodpeckers at such close range who were feasting on the peanut feeders. Saw a Nuthatch for the first time in my life too. Sandmartins had also arrived early. Didn't get to see the elusive Egyptian goose but will definitely be back again.

This is a really special place. So peaceful and teeming with wildlife. The Loch and surrounding areas are incredibly beautiful and there are plenty of walks if you can tear yourself away from the hides. The hides are equipped with telescopes as well as extremely welcoming and knowledgeable staff and volunteers. I met lots of volunteers over the course of the week - what amazing people! Many of them travelled great distances to help monitor the ospreys. So inspiring, their enthusiasm is infectious. Can’t wait to return.

Helped by being a beautiful day, we had a clear view of the nest with two almost grown chicks. Watching them swoop across the loch was a magical experience.
Really outstanding views of the birds through the telescopes as they devoured a trout they’d caught earlier. Could watch them all day!

Really fantastic setting and osprey viewing. We went to Loch Garden the day before and were underwhelmed. For a second opportunity to see and observe osprey this site was superb. Big, well situated hides, friendly and helpful guides and a stunning view over the Loch. Plenty of time to observe all kinds of behaviour and the opportunity to photograph the birds which was totally absent at garden.
