We saved visiting the museum until we had a free day in Dunoon. I think we benefited from having seem most of Dunoon and the surrounding area before our visit so were better able to appreciate some of the museum's content. The photo gallery of Dunoon past and present was the most enjoyable and I don't think we would have... More

Amazing collection of memorabilia and artifacts of Dunoon and Cowel Peninsula Small museum but it is well worth spending at least an hour enjoying the exhibits and reading the story boards. Thank you to all the volunteers who have made this museum a must see in Dunoon

Good for a rainy day and Scotland gets plenty of those! Bit expensive for what was in there though. Local history you would expect from a small town museum. Volunteer staff nice and helpful.

The attendant was excited about the history of the area. He asked questions about our interests and relations and showed us extra pertinent pictures and articles.

People in the area asked if we'd been to "the castle" so we decided to go thinking we were touring the building. We were pleasantly surprised to discover it was a local museum. Additionally, it was a free-will donation. We learned a lot by going thru the museum about the history of the area but the people working there were... More

A wonderful place full of nostalgia and a very knowledgeable volunteer who was absolutely delighted to tell you as much as he knew, which in itself was considerable, about his hometown of Dunoon

Spent a couple of hours at the Museum on Thursday afternoon with my 12 year old Son. Beautiful building and gardens and fantastic views. The Museum is well looked after and the space is utilised well with the models and displays and information. Interesting learning about Dunoon and watching the slide show of past and present. The staff were so... More

I used to live in this area so it was very interesting to find out more about the area than I'd previously known. There is a variety of exhibits, Victorian rooms, war memorabilia, nature, , and I even found a school photo of my daughter. There are wonderful views from the viewpoint in the Castle grounds and from the statue... More
