This is a lovely clean beach with good amenities. There is a good stretch of sand, great views towards the harbour and channel, café and you can also hire paddle boards and kayaks. Good local parking and close to other interesting areas (harbour, Tontine Street, Lower Leas)

great in the summer months when it is hot and you just want to cool off, as Folkestone tends to be able to offer that, with its arches, you can catch the sun, sun bathe, or simply shelter and enjoy the cool sea. Folkestone beach is great for sun worshippers and good for those not so keen on hot weather... More

Nice little cove and sandy. Yet again work was being carried out so could not walk along the pathway as it was shut. But beach was clean. I noticed it attracted dog walkers who aloud the dogs off leads and didn't pick up after there dog. Still worth a visit to see the metal mermaid looking out at sea.

The sand in this beach is so good that there’s an annual Folkestone Sandcastle Contest with some absolutely amazing entries. Next to the beach is a sculpture of the Folkestone mermaid, the pleasure beach cafe, toilets, a gift shop, fish and chips and a public house. Parking is available next to the harbour in two council run long term car... More

Just about the only sandy beach in the area - which means it is heaving in summer - far more attractive in spring or autumn for that reason. Lovely sand, high tidal rise and fall so beach area varies with the tide.
