Just popped in to get out of the cold. What a lovely, interesting hour or so we spent looking at the lovely personal collections of fossils and reading about the finders. Wonderful for finding out about the local geology, dinosaur fossils found locally, and a very interesting skeleton. Well worth a visit.

As a geologist, I am always looking for natural history museums and the Rotunda Museum seemed to be the right place to go and it was. It is small, but it represents a variety of fossils and local geology. A place to go, I just wished a bit more information for the displays.

First visit to this great little museum. Heard about it for ages, but finally got to visit. One of the country's first purpose-built museums. £3 entry is for an annual pass and covers the art museum down the road as well. Lots of geological history, maps, fossils, dinosaurs and bronze age archeology. And a stuffed great bustard.

We were enjoying a short trip to Scarborough and were looking for things to do, with it being winter. We found the rotunda museum, which was a fantastic find. The plesiasaur exhibit, fossils and tree burial skeleton were amazing. It gave enough information for you to absorb, and plenty of things to see and do. We would definitely come back,... More

Awesome little place. Just needs more information about fossils and finds in upstairs gallery. Grimsthorpe man is extraordinary! £3 and it gets you into art museum 5 mins away for nothing. Brilliant

The Rotunda was the main reason we came to Scarborough- my geologist husband's choice of destination and he wasn't disappointed. The staff were very welcoming and informative , well worth a visit.

The rotunda building itself is fascinating and has been beautifully restored. The exhibitions are informative, visual and interactive.

this is such a small but interesting museum if you are interested in fossils etc. The exhibits were well shown and although we did not have a child with us I know my Granddaughter would have loved the dinosaur displays
