The castle is a fun museum. Lots of kids there with class groups. There were good displays. Enjoyed the tour around areas closed to the general public.

There is plenty to see here, especially if you go on a guided tour of the Roman foundations and the Norman castle roof. The history of the Roman temple which the castle now stands on is fantastic

We did the guided tour of the foundations and the roof. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the castle, the history of Colchester and early Britons. Well worth the entry fee, must see.
