This museum is free entry and is next to Colchester castle. Lots of exhibits over a few floors. Lots of history belonging to the house and its owners. Well worth a visit if in the area.

As mentioned by others the clock room is really interesting. The museum is free to enter and has several rooms to explore. The history of the building is interesting along with its links to the castle (on the same grounds).
